Android 6.0.1 convert stock to Android TV 6 - help needed!

Folks! I need your help. Have a box and would like to flash it, but ATV Rom does not support stock remote control on/off is not working.

I have ATV rom and stock rom. May I ask someone to assist with exchaning files (which are suppost to be taken from atv and included to stock?)

Any help really appreciated..

You need only to copy over the config file for the remote to the ATV ROM.
Then the ir remote is supported.
File you need is remote.cfg from original ROM.

Hi ,

for this you only have to make changes in your "remote.config" , think it is not needed to port things ,

maybe only the "remote.config" from stock Rom , or only needed values , but i am not a Pro in that ,

but you can find many Infos about that here , good luck / gefattern

It is correct what gefattern say,
but on the other hand how you will know what to change?
The easiest way is to exchange the remote.cfg file.

Well actually it is not that easy....

The remote does not work at all. I cannot power on /off the device.

I already tried to replace remote.conf in etc...does not work...

In another forum I read that code for powering on/off is coded in bootloader.

I even tried to flash custom rom and unticked erase bootloader so that it will keep original stock one with working remote...but nothing happens, still dead

Could you kindly be more detailed since there are several remote cfgs....

Did you make sure that it has the right permission after you replace it?
Also you are sure the IR Remote is working correct.
Turning off the Device with IR Remote need support by the Kernel the rest can be patched.
Can you send me a link to your ROMs you have that I can take a look @ it?

1. flash rom with working remote, erase flash, normal erase, erase bootloader
2. Tested remote. Remote working, on/off working, rest as well
3. Unpacked image and saved system/etc/remote.conf
3.1 backued up from device too...
4. flash ATV rom. erase flash, normal erase, Untick erase bootloader.
5. then replace remote.conf
6. WORKING!!

Maybe better to use Stock as ATV Basis?

Maybe good idea.
Mount system of stock and Android TV.
Now just copy over from ATV ROM to Stock ROM what is not there.
Then reflash and see if it Work.

mmh...pretty weired..guess I took wrong remote.conf first time because system/etc/remote.conf works even with ATV bootloader....Ill do some experiments :-P

Good Idea, can't help you with it cause can't see what you have done.
All I know sometimes it is weird.
