    tsm-01 remote issues with x7

i was about to check in with tronsmart but thought i'd post here first in case its a known issue with a workaround.

when i bought the x7 i got it bundled with the tsm-01 and whenever i try to use it my system slows way way down, or at least the menus do (live wallpaper or other running tasks seem ok).

took me a while to make the connection between the remote and the slowness. unplugging the remote seems to let the system catch up and run fine after about 20 seconds.

    1.6 finless now
had same issue though maybe was worse on stock (005?)

    any tips?

It could be coincidental, so to be sure rather than making the leap, you need to monitor the system resources and see exactly what processes are using a high amount of resources at that time. Simply unplugging it and waiting 20 seconds is a good first step of trouble shooting, but I would get more data and facts before pursuing an avenue that may not be correct. Even if the remote plays a part, it could be conflicting with another app service you have installed, and who knows, perhaps it is an application you don't need and simply removing it could resolve the issue with the remote, but first you need to know exactly what on your system is using all the resources when it is slowing down.

Good point, ill go play with that.

But it's def related to the remote, it's repeatable by plugging and unplugging every time.

is there a better app for watching system resources than built-in? something with an overlay would be better so i can screw around in menus while i watch.

Not sure about an overlay, but I use Elixir 2 standalone, but they have an Elixir 2 Widgets app so you can have widgets in your home screen, not sure which widgets they have, but I'm sure memory and CPU processes should be in there. Not quite an overlay, but at least you can see it on the home screen, again, assuming it includes a memory/CPU widget.

UPDATE: forget about the Elixir 2 widgets, not what I thought they were, kind of useless, but the Elixir 2 app itself is still what I use as my system resource monitoring app.

Thanks I'll check it out, cuz im not getting anything useful from the dev options stuff, other than i can see that the input from the remote lags behind roughly 10 seconds though mouse cursor still moves.

          Edit:
Elixer worked well, but I couldn't pinpoint anything. No spikes in cpu, I/O or ram. I didnt see any processes clime or anything out of the ordinary.

Should this remote work on a pc? Tomorrow I suppose I can try it on that and see what happens. If not ill prolly see if its possible to return. I dont like it that much anyway, just thought it would be better than stock remote.

I posted this in another thread, but this is probably where it belongs.

I got my X7 with the TSM-01. I just ordered the one that was in the review video on Geekbuying. I'm not really happy with it. It seems like there are some serious lag issues. When I got my box, I flashed the Finless 1.6 ROM no problem. The included remote worked, but is too limited to be effective. So I plug the TSM-01 in and start to navigate around. The mouse pointer works OK. Took a bit of getting used to. But what I noticed was that when I clicked on anything, there was a 5-7 SECOND lag before it actually sent the command. I would click on something, then think I hadn't clicked the right spot, then clicked again and again, then it would do three clicks in a row and launch something it wasn't supposed to because the pointer had moved.

At first I thought there was something wrong with the ROM. So I started to troubleshoot. Reboot. Reflash. Checked the forums. Saw an item about using a USB extender to get the dongle away from the box. Same problem. I was going to flash back to a stock ROM, when I decided to plug in a wired mouse. Bam. Works perfectly. So now I have to find another model that will work with this thing. I can't start using it to replace my Boxee Box without making this work or my wife will kill me.

I'm hoping this is just a one-off conflict with this device and other remotes work fine.

                One more observation.

This remote is supposed to suspend the mouse pointer when you flip it over to use the keyboard. So you don't click on things accidentally. Doesn't seem to work.

                  yea, same here.

I sent an email to geekbuying, they told me to follow the instruction manual

I went ahead and tried, told them it didn't help, waiting to hear back.

Having the same issues as well, even though i'm using the CX 919 stick.
Please write back what geekbuying answered (I also bought my remote there).

They said I could send it back first and they would refund or exchange, thats fair I guess.

                        Geekbuying service is annoying

It is impossible to switch between RU and EN layouts at TSM-01RU. Geekbuying can not help by email as well as by chat. Their service is really annoying. Also two Russian leters are simply absent at this keyboard.

Do you mean they aren't communicating with you or they can't help?

They've been surprisingly responsive to me, only they answer around midnight my time so I assume their support is located in China, whereas the return address that I'm shipping the remote back to is in Cali.

I plan on making more purchases from them.

I purchased from them via amazon.com maybe that's the difference?
