they are receiving the same level of support,
patches on X7 are all applied to X7 mini.
not compatible just because they are having 2 different wifi/bt modules!!
(X7 mini's firmware is one version ahead of X7)

      Not the support that matters.

      Manufacturers support? Sure.

3rd party rom and community support? Absolutely not!

Even if you want to stick with the official minix rom, which I can't see anyone here doing, the Mini will never have features over the Standard X7, so with the minor difference in price, there is no justifiable reason to go with the mini.

I have a X7 and i am quite pleased. I run the strazou nexus SDK 2 rom with an overclocked T428 kernel from phjanderson (1080p / cpu: 1920 / ddr 720). For me that has been the best combination of ROM and kernel so far. 1080p playback is 100% and i mean really 100% as i am super picky as far as lag goes. This combination is 99% stable( had maybe 1 or 2 hang over the last month and no random reboots) and overheating the cpu is no problem at all. One thing you should note about this ROM is that screen scaling does not work, and with the T428 kernel the ethernet port is also not working. I've tested some other ROMs and kernels but was not pleased.
So if you are buying a rk3188 device i think you should pick the one with most developer support as the stock ROMs arent allways that good. Another thing to keep in mind is that the sdk2 firmware for rk3188 is better at decoding video than the sdk1( at least in my experience). So if the other tv-boxes dont have a sdk2 version available, i would choose the X7.

The response has been pretty clear...
Sounds to me like you're looking for a reason NOT to buy the X7!
