tablet turns itself off while on the road...

    Hey,

i noticed some strange behavior with the roms, starting from 1.7 (or similar). When I am on the road with my Pipo M8 Pro, the device is usually off when I arrive at my destination. It somehow turns itself off. I have to power it up again. When I disable WLAN before I left the house, everything is OK. Does anyone have a similar behavior?
It is not a HW thing, IMHO. Tried to bend and shake the device a few time now, I think it is not because of vibrations or anything else while carrying the device....

    Help is appriciated

I have not encountered this on my M8 Pro.

I've looked through the build.prop and found nothing that addresses the deep sleep feature, but it appears that the tablet is going into deep sleep mode for some reason.

Are you using v1.7? Have you tried v2.0?

I am using latest version 2.0a right now. I ran into the same problem. When WLAN is off during "travel" the issue does not occur.

How much time do you have the display set to go off?

Do you have the wifi set to stay on always during sleep?

I want to set mine up like yours to test and see what happens.

I am using "default" settings regarding WIFI, I just set display screen activity to 2 minutes everytime I flash new ROM.

Edit: I guess default is to sleep for WiFi?

And, about how long is your drive time?

What do you mean by drive time? How long I am on the road with my tablet?
It depends, walking around 10 minutes with the tablet in my bag is enough to turn it off, sometimes.

                My wifi settings are:

                Network notifications ON
Keep Wi-Fi on during Sleep ALWAYS
                Avoid poor connections OFF
                WiFi Optimization ON

Sitting on my desk with all of those settings, my tablet wakes up every time I push the power button.

Let me try moving around with it in sleep mode and see what happens.

Tomorrow I will be on the road a lot, is there any setting I can play around with to test it myself?

Is is possible that your power button is being pressed inside your backpack?

I thought of that, too. But pressing the power button for a long time just pops up the menu "reboot or shut down". Because I have my tablet inside a case there is no way the display is being pressed, hence the touch does not react to "non-capacitive" input.

I dont get it. I had my setting on "keep wi-fi on during sleep ALWAYS" and I noticed that wlan is turned off when the tablets display is off for a longer time. When I press the power button, WLAN has to connect again, first. Sometimes this takes up to a few settings. But the settings name says to keep WLAN ALWAYS ON during sleep???

Sorry, none of my testing can reproduce the problem on mine. That's strange!!!!!

Can you tell me the difference between "keep wi-fi on during sleep " never and always? When my tablet is off during some time the wlan connection disconnects automatically with both settings. I traveled 100km yesterday and the device die not shutdown with setting "never", but I got the feeling hat I had more battery drain .
