hmm..
my experiments : crackling can be caused by..
(2015) Using a Hdmi switch.. I touched the out shielding metal from HDMI cable.. the crackling stoped ( replaced switch solving my issue )
(2018) when I did my khadas tone ( USB DAC) review.. there was crackling.. on some device this got solved by replacing the power adaptor of tvbox
there is also a CPU usage cracking on some device.. CPU goes 100% it creates crackling.. but that's more related to sensitivity of the headphone/usb-dac used
external sources causing crackling like : airco / sealing fan / electric fence / external hub or USB / powerlan units ect?
