    Bricked or User Error?

    Greetings!

Bought a MK808B from Amazon http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Worked fine out of the box, but wanted to install Finless 1.7 on it. Something went wrong and now I'm no longer getting video via HDMI (TV). Blue light is on solid immediately with any power source (wall outlet or PC). I've tried the following:

    1. Paper clip/Pin on Reset then connecting USB to OTG port.
    2. Shorting pin 8 & 9 for MaskRom mode.
    3. Factory restore with RKBatchTool.exe
    4. Used several different PCs/Laptops with different USB 2.0 ports and cables.

I've attached some images hope a few pictures can explain it better than I can. I'm a newb that's been reading this forum for the past 16 hours and I think it's time to ask for assistance, I just hope it's a user error and not that I completely damaged the unit. Although $45 for tuition isn't terrible, I'm known to "learn" things the hard way.

Immediately plugged into laptop and ROM Flash Tool.exe starting, unit goes into Maskrom mode on its own

Results of Erase NAND (IDB) (takes a little time to get error, but eventually pops up:

    Results of Flash Rom:

Windows 7 recognizes the MK808B as RockUSB device. I've several flavors of the x64 drivers for Windows 7, nothing indicates communication problems between PC and MK808B.

Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks much for reading...

Have you checked if it is a genuine MK808B before you flashed it? Because i have the impression that the ones from amazon are mostly fakes.

Which factory image have you used to restore?

First, thanks much for your response.

Great question. I did check initially, amidst the excitement I may have thought otherwise. I used http://www.freaktab.com/showthread.p...-identify-them as a reference. Just opened it up and took a few pics, and can't seem to determine which model I have. Thoughts?

The image I tried (I believe) was http://www.freaktab.com/showthread.p...ory-from-China

Genius! This bought it back to life -- http://www.freaktab.com/showthread.p...ll=1#post98327

Now to put XBMC back on and hope it'll mount of my NFS shares (which was one of the original issues that prompted me for a ROM flash). Would you have any experience with MK808B to Synology NFS mounts would you?

Forgot the most important part -- Thank you so much for your time and help! I would've spent another 12 hours of random reading and aimlessly applying ROMs if not for your help!

I only know that not all kernels support NFS shares. You have to hope that yours does, because you do not have a lot of kernel choices for your clone. If NFS doesn't work, you could try SMB, i think that always works. (But xbmc has trouble logging in to a smb drive for me)

Cool, I'll do some poking around. SMB/CIFS works but kind of choppy even at 720p, I'll look into a USB to Ethernet plug.

If not, I still have a ATV2 for XBMC. The MK808B clone will be mainly for NHL Gamecenter.
