wifi issues...

Hey all, finally got my box and hooked it up...

Initially pretty impressed with speed and performance, but after "a while", maybe 10-60 minutes, the wifi throughput goes to pot.

After some playing around I'm able to reproduce the problem consistently. Initially, I can max out my cable modem with 6-7Mbits of throughput. After some time, suddenly the throughput drops to 600-800kb. Warm boot doesn't help, *cold boot* doesn't help (surprisingly)... all I've found that fixes it (temporarily) is disabling/reenabling the wifi.

I'm hoping this will be fixed after I flash away from the stock ROM, but i'm curious if anybody else has had this issue.

Yep.... wired connection.

I contacted support and they suggested I flash the ROM, which I intend to try, just haven't gotten around to it as I've always intended to have a wired connection.

I also have problem with my network.
As soon as I'm downloading addons or skins, it is really slow.
Speedtest is only working in download/ping but not in upload, it's stocked at 0.
Before I didn't have any of this problems, everything happends after I changed my router/internet provider.

I find a little trick, which makes things better, but i'm still not satisfied.
I changed my default MTU 1500 to 1460.

Now Speedtest works as expected, but still the downloading of skins is really slow.
Maybe 20minutes to download Aeon Nox !!! ( my internet is 30MB download...)

Browsing SMB windows network doesn't result also anything. It was also working before.

If anyone has any idea howto configure those settings to fix this problem, I will be very happy...

It's really difficult to give an answer, because I think the screenshot is form your router-config-gui? I don't know any think about your router (witch is it)?...

Generally the device has "WIFI: 2.4GHZ WiFi 802.11 b/g/n" with only one antenna and, if I remember correctly you have a device without bluetooth, so then you have the RTL8188 with only 1T1R (of cause because of only one antenna too) that means 1 transmit & 1 receive channel (150Mbit) so you only need 20MHz and not 20MHz/40MHz... But if you use at your network other devices with 2T2R (300Mbit) you don't have to change this value...

Have you the possibility to choose the channel manually? Do you have the possibility to get an overview with WLans on with channels are around yours? If yes, find out a free/not used channel (if possible choose 1,6 or 13) ...

But I don't think, that will help you at your problems: "still the downloading of skins is really slow" & "Browsing SMB windows network doesn't result also anything" because you wrote "Now Speedtest works as expected" so it doesn't seems to be a speed problem at your network....
