which s905x2 device should i buy

X96 Max seems like cheapest and still have the same performance. However, users have reported optical out issue and HDMI burn issue.
Personally, mine is working good so i dont have any complaints. its a 2/16 box and i have not felt any need for extra ram.

i have contacted many sellers and now they are selling it with ddr3 ram , no idea if they run out of ddr4 storage , and i wonder if the roms will be compatible in between

the 2/16 box is the one with ddr3 ram version. Others should be ddr4 version. strange if every box is now ddr3. Yes i am using default cable and have not yet felt any issue yet.

I think even the 4gb should be ddr3 , few sellers said the box have ddr3 not sure if they were meaning about 2gb or 4gbram

Have you tried the skystream firmware that may be with some fixes since it is the same box but they are selling it for double the price
but i believe it is atv firmware

skystream is at 8.1 only and i have no motivation to use old android version. i think the base is same and the only gap between atv and other than atv is gapps. I am unable to flash opengapps atv on android 9 hence stuck

Yeah but you have the 2gb version which have official android 9 so it may work ok but there is nothing official for the 4gb version

So android 9 works fine ? Kodi ? No chopiness on video playback ? Reboots ?

I have tanix tx5 MAX s905x2/4/32 ddr4, box is VERY GOOD, but tanix wona to kill that device by changing to PRO so TX5 MAX is a white crow now to buy, + till now is only one stock rom witch navi bars mod and thats it... libre elec for s905x2 is not working correctly, eth and wifi are not working... I had t95q and h96 max x2 and tx5 max in hand, and definitly tanix is working best from them... i will try to test hk1 s905x2/4/32/A9.0 if one from my friends wil buy it...

Thats exactly what i have noticed the tanix max some sellers were selling it but not many and the pro version was everywhere , who knows what is going on with these chinesse factories

so libre elec is like bootable os , thats a no for me then
any idea how to check the ram speeds without opening the box , i have ordered the x96max

I doubt its an official rom. But the rom is pretty stable. Wifi is much better, not even a single reboot. Haven't used kodi but i have heard picture quality is good in 9 using kodi. Video playback 4k 30fps was great, YouTube 4k 60fps takes a second or two time but it becomes smooth nonetheless.
