Jesurun K8 - Rk3188 Video is choppy... should I root it?

I finally received my Jesurun K8 RK3188 player.

I bought this as a replacement for my revue because I cant get apps for the revue. It navigates faster then the revue... but video play is HORRIBLE. The picture quality is also garbage compared to the revue. Was I wrong to assume an RK3188 android player would be better then a revue? I assumed the revue was old technology.

The picture quality most likely cant be changed BUT can the video playback be fixed with rooting and a different rom? Is there any compatible roms out there? what info do you guys need ??? i took this picture.

If you state.. video playback is horrable..
then you should state.. what player you used.. and what content you are trying to view
and a descripion of the problem or pic..

note..
mx-player seems to be the best video-player
if are trying/using xbmc 12.2.. --you should try v13 alpha as its h/w acc enabled

sorry. video is choppy with netflix, usb based mp4 divx mpgs, tvportal choppy, youtube choppy... mx player and bs player are choppy as well for playing anything i give it.i have never rooted before or used a rom. can someone guide me in the right directin? will it help my problem?
