Livesuit doesn't work either. Even with the device being recognized by windows as the ADB Composite Device, livesuit goes nowhere. Can one lock screen really mess things up like this? I was trying to flash with an Ondo ICS image: http://www.cidtux.com/1/post/2012/1/...-firmware.html

It looks like the same exact device.

Just to make sure you didn't miss the step where it has you change the name to remove the chineese characters in the name of the IMG file? I was trying some unimage work on it the other day untill I found a message an hour or so later to do that, then it worked fine.

Yeah, I renamed the .img file to ICS.img. The problem is that it seems as if Livesuit doesn't detect the device. I'm left holding the middle button for minutes with no notification showing up.

OK seems to work at least somewhat with the 2.0.5

I loaded up the 2.0.5 version figuring I would start with replacing with Gingerbread first then move to ICS later if this works

When you get it booted up you need to hit the settings menu, go down to language (A in a box), select the top menu item and then find english to set the language. Next up seeing if I can run the KK Rom Kit recovery on this build.

I held the middle button and inserted the USB cable and started getting driver notifications and it took off and flashed. Took about 3 to 5 minutes or so total. Also I did use the 2.0.5 Gingerbread rom for the Delux capacitive. Figured I would try that first just in case there were memory issues.

I'll give it a try again with the gingerbread image. Can you write out a step-by-step guide so that I can see if I missed any step? I'm sure I did everything right, as it looks for a driver too, but then installs that ABD one I got from Superoneclick. Then nothing happens. Maybe it has to do with the fact that my debug mode isn't enabled yet?

                Debug wasnt enabled

And that should not be it since the FEL mode you go into to use LiveSuite is a mode that is firmware embeded into the A10 chip itself.
As for the instructions I followed allong the same ones in the page you referenced.

Although I think they are wrong by making the heading on step 5 to install the cable since most will see that and do it before they see the bit about hitting the menu button first. Then keep holding the menu button till the popup comes up and go from there.

For the record I was running Livesuite V1.07 just in case that makes a difference

Note almost out of time for today, If you still need it by tomorrow I will use my phone to videotape the procedure and post on youtube.

                  Oh by the way...

I Think if I remember right I had to find the VX610WP_v2.0.5.rar file on a file sharing site somewhere since it didn't download for me from Onda directly but I cant remember which one I used. Will have to leave it at a you doing a google search since I have to get out the door. And it is a bit big to upload here.

                    Success with ics!!

It just worked! I randomly hit a couple of buttons while holding the middle one, and it formatted and flashed perfectly. I now have ICS and it comes with the market!

                      sweet

now we are cooking. so does that firmware have lots of extra Chinese characters floating around or did it get to english ok on everything? this one is mostly useable but things like enter keys keep showing up in Chinese. might have to have you check what your cpu is running at too. got this one at 1.2 now and seems stable.

Be sure to let us know how it is running

Since this thread is fairly well resolved, you can feel free to put your impressions of the ICS rom, how it looks, how it performs, stability etc. in this thread :

or feel free to start your own thread as well.
