    A95X F2 help

I have an A95x F2 box, and its running Android 9.0. For some reason I cannot pull down the notification panel. The top and bottom bars work fine. I can pull them up and down, but when I get a notification it will not allow me to pull down the notification panel to see my notifications. I am also missing the notification access setting. When I try to use any app that involves notification access, it says that feature is not available on this device. I have looked at every single setting, have looked on Google, and I cannot find a solution. an someone please help me?

I guess this is a problem with Android 9 boxes. I found that other boxes running Android 9 also have this same problem. Not sure about every box running Android 9, cause I am not sure of all the boxes running Android 9, but all the ones I know of also have this problem. Just figured I would google some boxes that I know are running Android 9, and found that they had the same problem where they could not look at notifications and was missing the notification access setting. Seems kinda weird, but I guess part of the problem is also not being able to use widgets. I have not tried to use widgets, but I read people on the GT King forums said that the same spot where you find the notification access setting is also missing the widget setting, and sure enough its also missing on my box. I am guessing this problem is not something that can be fixed with a tweak or workaround, and has to be baked into the rom itself. I think the rom itself is simply missing the ability to use widgets and notifications. Wish I would've known this was a problem with Android 9 boxes before buying an Android 9 box. The box works great, but I need my notifications. Guess I will just have to wait till a developer figures out how to add notification access feature to Android 9 roms on AMLOGIC boxes.

So just a warning to anyone buying an Android 9 box, notifications do not work at all, and neither does widgets. Just do a search for any box running Android 9 like 'GT King notification access' before buying to see if the problem has been fixed. The GT King and the A95X F2 boxes have been out for months and the problem is still there, so it may be a while before it gets fixed.

Porkie I believe the Notification access is built-into one of the system apps, like possibly SystemUI or some other system app; so either the manufacturer's tech is compiling the ROM from source code an editing that apk and breaking Notifications or just not activating in the build. I have a TX6 that has Android 9 ROM, the April OTA had broken Notifications window but the May OTA fixed it and now have functioning notifications on Pie in the Tanix ROM.

There are few apks that can be used to replace the standard notifications window, the one I like best "Bottom Quick Settings" by Tom Bayley. This pops up on screen from bottom with a mouse swipe or remote key-shortcut programmed with "ButtonMapper" app by flar2, which is great because I always disable the standard navigation bar.

If you would've actually taken time to read my first post, you would know that no apps that replace the default notifications work. All those apps need notification access, and when you open the app for the first time you have to turn on notification access, which is not a feature of Android 9 roms on these boxes. There simply is not notification access feature, and no app that uses notifications works, period.

Nothing sucks for me, cause its just an Android box. Its not life. Next time you try to 'help' someone, try not being a smart ass, and actually read their post. My post was more of a warning, and a call to help with the problem so that others do not have to experience the same problem. I have no doubts it will be fixed, but lots of people are looking for a solution. There are some good developers on here, so I figured I would try to get help here. I think most people are looking in the wrong place for a solution, cause it clearly cannot be fixed with a tweak, it is simply missing the ability to use notifications, and that ability has to be added to the firmware. The system settings does not even have the notification access setting like it should have.

Sounds like missing Permission XML then.

Anyways If you don't supply logs or do any minimal debugging yourself to find the Root cause of what is going wrong don't expect a developer to come along and fix it for you just cause your made an individual post about the Problem. Your post would have been better suited in the forum thread pertaining to your device A95X_F2.
