I continue to have email correspondence with Beelink who continue to deny that there are two different versions of the GT King Pro.
The evidence from various people all over the internet states that there are clearly two different versions out there.
Here are some photos of the GT King Pro which I bought.
You can clearly see that the CPU clock speed is set at 1.8 GHz.

It had issues running at the advertised 2.2, Amlogic stopped it from happening now it's the speed it is,
It still works the same, and won't crash or fall over as much.

Apart from testing apps what apps do you see slowing down.
Pretty sure you will notice very little difference as far as a day to day Player goes

Thank you for the response trebor.
Its not the performance of the box which annoys me.
I've had no visible problems with it.
Its the continuing misleading adverts that the CPU is clocked @ 2.2 GHz which it clearly isn't which annoy me.

In the first email reply I had from Beelink they admitted that they had rolled back to 1.8 GHz because of stability problems which is fine by me.
But the very next day they sent me an email denying what they said in the first email & claiming it was all a big mistake & said it was the original GT King they were talking about.
In follow up emails they said it wasn't the GT King they were talking about either & insinuated that WE as in all the people who bought the GT King Pro were all mistaken even thought the evidence is clearly there for all to see.
There's an old saying which goes "If you find yourself in a hole then the best advice is to stop digging"

Even now they continue to deny that there are two different versions of the box out there.
I know there's not a great deal that customers can do apart from sending their boxes back which in my case would be too expensive but I think it only fair that people know that what they get may not be as advertised.

      ?

Is it going to be a mess like GT King? If yes then good luck to whoever purchases this

I bricked my GT King because Beelink messed up the update firmwares. So it wouldn't surprise me if there are different versions of GT King Pro with different memory chips etc

Seems everyone that recently bought a GT-King now have the 1.7-1.8Ghz version too even if all sites still advertise it as 2.2Ghz which is misleading.
Only their new A311D chip runs at 2.2Ghz now, only used in the Khadas Vim3.
Possibly now the opposite. I bought 6 standard GT-King products, they are all rev_b. Click image for larger version

Heres a post I posted earlier but it was flagged by the system as spam ?
Maybe because I had to keep editing it ?

Finally a bit of honesty from Beelink.
After several email exchanges back & forth they have finally admitted that there are two versions of the GT King Pro out there.
Must have been the irrefutable evidence that was shown to them ?

Here is the email I received from them this morning.

              "Hi,
The default frequency of the S922X is 1.8Ghz, and the overclocking can reach 2.2Ghz. However, because Amlogic claims that the S922X overclocking reaches 2.2Ghz, the product will be unstable, and the chip will overheat . Some problems occur during use, and 1.8Gh z is stable. The best frequency of operation, in order to maintain the stability of t he product, we began to set the default frequency of the S922X product to 1.8Ghz.
If the customer wants, we can restore the firmware running at the highest frequency of 2.2Ghz, but this may make the product unstable.

              Best regards"

A pity they didn't say that at the outset.

I have received a similar reply but I'm still not sure what is going on here. So is it the same HW product with the different default settings that can be changed via software? Either this is a lie or there are no different revisions of the S922X and even more people all around the web is wrong.

I'm trying to get as much information about the different CPU revisions as possible, see here: https://discourse.coreelec.org/t/s92.../638?u=koprajs

There are reports that running a rev. B chip with the rev. A device tree is causing a serious overheating because of the higher voltage settings for the rev. A. If this is true then this is not the same hardware. Also it seems that the rev. B is capable of 8K decoding while the rev. A is not, but I need to confirm this.

Also Beelink's reaction does not make things better. First they say that they have downclocked the device. Then they deny it and say that it does not apply to the Pro version. Then they admit that they have downclocked the Pro version as well and offer an update that will overclock the device at the cost of beeing unstable. If the rev. A chip is a different hardware then it may really became unstable when overclocked but the rev. B would probably work fine at the same frequency.

To be honest at this stage I have no idea of what I have in either my GT King Pro or my UGOOS AM6
Also remember there's a UGOOS AM6 Pro as well.

I ran a Android Terminal Emulator on both my Beelink GT King Pro & Ugoos AM6.
The GT King Pro is Rev A & The Ugoos AM6 is Rev B.

I've noticed that some parts of the Beelink site has been down for a few days now.
                      That includes the forum.

@Luko69 You can try Reboot to LibreELEC apk from googleplay, it works with CoreELEC too.

You must put correct dtb file in root directory of BOOT partition and rename it as dtb.img

                            g12b_s922x_beelink_gt_king.dtb (for Rev B)

                            g12b_s922x_beelink_gt_king_rev_a.dtb ( for Rev A)
