    Finless 2.1 Rom problem

Hi guys i am really frustrated and i hope that you can help me. Have an MK808, tried to install Finless. I open the Rom flash tool, i remove the debugging mode, then click on the pc connect option in the device, then USB storage. The ROM Tool does not restart the device but RKBatch Tool does. The Rom flash tool says that it found the mass storage device BUT WINDOWS7 (freshly ****in' installed) installs "rockchip USB device" drivers and when i enter ROM flash mode, the Rom flash tool does not recognise the device and does not request to install the drivers included. Tried to install them manually but it says that the driver is already the latest. Uninstalling them does not help. It just reinstalls them by itself. Help me please. How do i make the tool work?

To sum the whole thing up - nothing can put me into bootloader mode.

Did you start the tools as administrator (Right Click and "Run as Administrator")? This should work or you try another usb port or pc. Maybe you have to use rkbatchtool to "switch" to flash mode. Then after closing it use the romflashtool, erase nand and then flash rom. Another way to go into flash mode is to find the reset hole and to push it while you plug in the usb plug.

Yes, i did all that. The thing is that nothing works. Today i installed Moborobo, and windows found the MK808, then i installed the drivers and the computer found the ADB device. But still the tools cannot recognise the MK808 in flash mode. Nohing does. Changed the USB ports, the cable also. And nothing. It is like the hardware does not exist.

        Re: Finless 2.1 Rom problem

Ot:Before you flash for the first time, always make sure you really have a mk808 and not a mk808b or any clone.

Btt: the paperclip/reset Button method seems to be the most reliable one. Does the blue LED light up if you try this method? If it does, you are not in flash mode and propably did something wrong.

I agree with Phinc, The only way I was able to load the ROM was use the reset button method. I printed out the excelent readme file in Bob's Finless zip file and followed it to the letter.

Well, the blue light DOES light up. What am i doing wrong? I press the button with the paperclip and then i plug the OTG cable. The MK808 (Rk3066) doublechecked! boots up and enters a menu that very much resembles android phone recovery menu and in the bottom it says "No command"
            Thanks

DISCONNECT all other cables from the device. Also the power cable, you don't need it for flashing. Then press the reset button (i always open the case because the button is hard to reach otherwise). WHILE pressing the button, connect a USB cable (that you have already connected to your computer with the other end) to the OTG port.
              I hope this helps.

I always had the HDMI cable plugged in. Maybe that is the problem. Will try it tonight and post the progress. Thank you!

OK guys, this is the MK808 that i have and this is what happens when i try to boot the goddamn thing by pushing the button and then plugging the OTG cable. The blue led lights up every time. No other cables were connected. Also i get the same result when i push the reset button and plug the voltage cable in its slot. The PC tottaly ignores the hardware. No woman no cry, type of thing

                  Please tell me whats wrong.

                    Re: Finless 2.1 Rom problem

You are in recovery mode, not bootloader mode
Disconect all wires, (let the hdmi if you want)
Press the reset button, and maintain it pressed while you connect the usb wire to otg port.
The pc must sound a "dong" New hardware is attached.
                    Install the driver in pc.
                    Flash the New Rom.

If your device is not detected by the pc try other usb wire or port in pc, only usb 2.0 ports are completely supported, try the isb ports that are in the mainboard, not frontal or external usb port.

                    leolas.

It clicks, but here is something more weird. The RkBatch tool also reboots me to recovery mode instead of flash mode! Rom flash tool from Finless folder says it can not reboot to flash mode but it recognises the device! FOUND RK android mass storage...

Maybe reinstall the drivers???? have you tried that?
