How do you change the DNS setting on the X7?

    Hi all,
Unfortunatesly I can't change the DNS settings on my X7. I've found the DNS headings, under the "Ethernet" section, but I can't actually amend the DNS addresses... Any ideas?

    Thanks.

Sorry, I can't find this app on the play store. Can someone point me in the right direction?

          Thanks.

You can do it in settings but you have to setup for static IP.

You cant have dynamic IP and static DNS. That is an Android limitation and always has been.

              Hey Finless,
Could you describe how I can setup a Static IP on my Ethernet connection?

              Thanks.

It depends on your lan. But in most cases that I know of, it is done thru the admin function of your router. Most routers that I have owned had a DHCP feature and allowed you to reserve an address. To do this you must know the mac address of the device... usually you can get this from the router, they usually have some sort of list function, where you can list the connected devices and show their mac address. On my old DLink router I had to write that down, then type it into the reservation list... along with the IP I wanted to assign. If you don't do this, most DHCP's will reassign their IP leases periodically, hence the addresses will change, if not reserved.
