Please help messed up tablet using AmlogicBurningTool!

    Hi All,

My Prestigio PMP5880C tablet appeared to be stuck on a boot loop, I tried everything to try and get it out of this. Followed the advice of trying to put the f/w on the sd card and reboot, but didn't work! This tablet is identical to the Amlogic Next8P12 (NXM805MC), I opened it up and it looks exactly the same. So hopefully the firmware for that will also work with this.

Anyway, I thought I got the correct firmware to be able to flash the tablet using the burning tool but turns out I was wrong!

The name of the zip file I tried is: VB 80a PRO_20130204.zip which appears to be for the viewsonic tablet.

Something tells me the signature verification is failing (read some other members say this). The items missing from the firmware file that i need are:

    usb_spl.bin
    u-boot-orig.bin
    config_progress.xml

^^ The above files are present in the viewsonic firmware but not the Prestigio one (downloaded from their website).

I really need your guys help with this!

    please see the log output:

I don't know if they are exactly identical, but I believe the ROMs are compatible. I think I've had that ROM installed on mine. There is also a Master-G tablet that I believe is the same.

You don't need a burn tool to install a ROM on Amlogic tablets. The Amlogic SOC can boot bootloader and recovery from the external SD Card. All you need is a compatible ROM with valid signature that matches your signature key in the recovery and you can flash install it. Some of the ROMs might check the build.prop during install to verify the model name.

I'm pretty certain it's identical, this looks exactly the same as this when I open it up:

In my efforts to try and flash I ran the usb burning tools in admin mode in windows 7 and managed to flash it - not sure how! But now the burning tool does not detect it, I hear the windows ping but it's not detected in the tool.

Anyway can you point me to how I can create the sd card (and how do I get the tablet to force a flash from the SD card?). Which other tablets are the same maybe I could grab a slightly different rom?

Not sure what to do now...

The Amlogic USB burning tools seem to be best for making bricks.

What is the current status of the tablet? Does it boot into Android? Does it boot into recovery?

If it won't boot at all into any mode, I'd look for a compatible bootloader and recovery. If necessary, rename the bootloader u-boot.bin and the recovery uImage_recovery. Put them on an external SD and try to boot into recovery. If you can get it into recovery, then you need to flash a compatible ROM.

If you still can't get it to boot into any mode at all, you've probably completely erased the internal NAND storage. At that point, the only way you might be able to recover it is with either a properly configured update meant to be installed with the USB Burning Tool (good luck finding one) or by creating a specially formatted recovery SD card. You can find some tutorials online about doing this for other Amlogic tablet models, but I've never tried it. You'll have to research on your own. If you're successful, please share your results.

It's kind of dead - I plug it in and I see two removeable devices (but can't open them), nothing on the screen though.

Can't really do much else with it.

          EDIT:

During my googling I found the entire circuit diagram and a 'diagnosis' manual - seemed reasonably official to me, would that help?
