Alright, man, you're not going to like this one bit, but.... after the Stock boot.img/simon kernel.img/system_finless.img booted with no problems, I went back to your 1.6 package. Flashed with the defaults, no boot/HDMI signal.

      It's recovery.img!!!

I never used the new recovery from the latest CX919 ROM! It's the old recovery.img. And this explains the "fixed NAND" thing in the geekbuying blog....

      GOD DAMN IT!
I am kicking myself for not even noticing this difference

OK take my Finless 1.6 ROM.
Take recovery.img out of this TEST ROM kit and put it into my FinlessROM folder in my 1.6 ROM. Basically your replacing recovery.img from this TEST kit into the 1.6 ROM.

      I bet it will work....

DAMN IT! I AM AN IDIOT for missing the simplest thing

I know that it will.... I am 99.9% confident that was the issue.

I wish you would have told me your boot sequence and let me know if the recovery and formatting thing happened. I think had you told me first boot after flashing 1.6 that NOTHING HAPPENED not even the recovery formatting thing, I would have got it right away.

Or did that happen on 1.6 and then did not boot?

I would like to know that.

Either way... I am pretty confident recovery.img was the issue....

Copied recovery.img as recovery_mod2.img into the folder and selected that with everything else default on the 1.6 setup. Erased NAND, flashed.

          We have liftoff!!

Boots well, WiFi looks good, looks like we're in business. Anything else in particular we need to fix? And for an elementary question, do I need any workarounds for Netflix or anything? Let me know if there's anything else you need me to test or look at with this weirdo device.

Thanks again for all the time you put in on this!

Never once ever got an HDMI signal from the device on the 1.5 or 1.6 releases of yours on completion of the flashing.

Got yea..... This was all my total mistake!

I am pretty pissed off spending my time and your time on a stupid mistake that I would not expect anyone to understand. F*CK I am pissed off at myself......

              I will make a CX-919 1.6a with the correct recovery.img

Anyway use the ROM. Give me feedback. I will fix what I can!

Let me thank you VERY MUCH for working with me live!
If more people did that rather than leaving a random post about "this don't work" and would be willing to test on devices I do not have LIVE WITH ME.... Well much more progress can be made

Tucker..... YOUR THE MAN! I would not have found this stupid simple thing until you risked multiple flashes and your stick to help the community!

Haha, hey, all I did was follow instructions... I know how frustrating this kind of thing can be and how little things slip through the cracks. Also happy to help... if these devices are starting to hit the general market with the same issues, better for you to know that before it gets too widespread.

For future reference, if I want to just drop a different kernel (say, the overclocked one) without erasing settings/apps, I can just uncheck everything else and flash it on there? I'm way more used to phones that have a single-image flash like that stock firmware we worked with had

Yes you can and 90% of the time no issues..... BUT.... I always say this.... If you have issues after doing that, best to erase and flash so you know your clean! Make sense?

Hey Tucker..... If your good now, I want to close this post and unstick it. It is no longer needed.

I am uploading a new 1.6a ROM so I think we are done?

                    You cool with that?

Yup, that's also what TitaniumBackup is for

Looks like the latest version of Netflix runs natively and scales up to HD properly. None of that Xposed workaround from the other ROM. Installed the September build of XBMC, and it streamed a 720p vid flawlessly. Overall, things are looking great... any other feedback or issues I'll post in the main 1.6 thread.

Time to grab a drink, relax, and really mess with this thing for the first time in the two weeks that I've had it!
