    Sorry it is not working

Only other thing I would suggest as I have had bandwidth issues before streaming from Youtube.

    1) Reboot all routers and wirless routers. Realize this could just be a bandwidth issue!
    2) Check the minimum requirements for internet speed from Netflix. I think they have one.
    3) RUN a speed test from your browser on your tablet.

    Make sure it doesnt suck!

Finally are there settings in netflix that give you amount of buffer space? Bandwidth alocation etc?

The last thing you might try is getting from the market a task manager and killing a bunch of BS tasks. You would be suprised as hell to find out how much crap runs in the background on these tablets after you have been on for 10 minutes! Resources from BS apps doing this to you might be contributing.

    Just some ideas.

Not your fault Bob and I definitely appreciate you trying to help. I also appreciate the sympathy heh heh.

I've been considering bandwidth issues too but I haven't explored it too much because
      1. I can stream video without issue via YouTube. (My son even streams YouTube constantly on his Polaroid PMID4300 without much trouble)
      2. Netflix plays fine on all of our pc's, game consoles etc.

Honestly we have a slow connection compared to most but it's been more than fast enough to stream Netflix via Wifi on Wii, Xbox 360 and all of our PCs and laptops without issue for the past 2 years.

Very occasionally I'll encounter a brief moment of buffering on Netflix during peak times if we are all connected but it's not common at all.

I reset our router last night and tried but haven't gone the whole modem and router reset and reboot procedure. It's worth a try. I'll also try "borrowing" wifi from our neighbor for a minute if they have a faster connection.

I'm not sure..are these tablets more sensitive to connection speed than pc's or game consoles..?

I'm 99% sure Netflix doesn't have any sort of user accessible settings for buffering etc. but I'll double check to be sure!

      Thanks Bob!

Since Netflix 1.6.0 ran drastically better than the newest version (and partly out of desperation) I've been trying different older versions of Netflix. I downloaded Netflix version 1.5.2 and it's been playing very well for about 20 minutes now. It's been playing the movie Rango for my son for close to a half hour without issue now!

There may ocassionaly be a very minor audio sync issue now and then but it's definitely minor.

I'm hoping this isn't a fluke and that this version will be watchable. If so I just have to put up with or find a way to make it so it doesn't constantly nag me to upgrade to the latest version.

For those of you having trouble with Netflix on the PMID701C you might want to give Netflix version 1.5.2 a try. I downloaded mine from here:

Please let me know if it works out for you guys as I have to walk off and handle things around the house for a while. So far so good here. Sometimes there is a little audio video sync issue but its definitely the most watchable version I've had so far.
        Good luck!

          Nice find Dad

Thanks for findind the older versions. I tried 1.4 first and it would only tell me there was a newer version available. 1.52 worked exactly as you described. I watched a whole episode od Top Gear and video did not stutter and audio was nearly always right on. One Million times more watchable than the updated version we have all been cussin at.

The only problem I had with 1.52 is an occational pop-up dialogue box telling me there is a newer version. Makes me wonder how long this version will keep working?

Thanks pitsboi! So glad to hear it's working for someone else too. I have no idea what the difference would be between the newest version of netflix and 1.5.2 to make such a huge difference in performance on our tabs. The latest 1.7.0 and 1.7.1 versions were just unwatchable.

I tried pretty much every older version I could find. I too tried 1.4 thinking it would be lightest on resources and it just gave me "This video is not available for instant streaming" error messages on EVERY video I tried to play.

Of course 1.5.2 was the LAST of quite a few versions I had to try. I almost didn't bother because 1.5.1 didn't work for me. Glad I didn't throw in the towel.

Video pretty much plays flawlessly for me as well. There are occasional bits where the audio doesn't seem to sync well but its definitely very watchable. Plus I'm sure I was over sensitive since I spent like 2 or 3 days watching this thing epically fail to stream Netflix.

It's slightly annoying having it nag us to update to a new version every time we open it or finish a video...but at least it's working! How long it works is something I'm worried about too

You might go ahead and open up the App manager and look for some of the pre-installed things that you will never use and delete them and see if it helps any. I noticed I was having some real problems last night on my 4.0.3 V1 untill I unloaded a bunch of the stock programs (APK's) that came with the ROM (Most in Chinese), then it started behaving again. If so might be a matter of memory.

Great suggestion. I had started to do that but didn't delete much. I think I deleted a couple things, AOL, Kayak etc. but I'm sure there are quite a few bloatware apk's that I'll never use. May as well free up some space anyway!

So I was wrong on this. Netflix DOES allow users to adjust video quality settings.

Simply log in to Netflix and click the "Your Account and Help" link in the upper right corner. From there look for the first link under the "Settings" heading in the right hand column. It's currently labeled "Manage Video Quality"

It's basically designed to assist users with caps on their internet data usage but adjusting this down MAY help some Netflix issues. Certainly can't hurt to try.

There are currently three settings available:
                      • Good quality (up to 0.3 GB per hour)
                      • Better quality (up to 0.7 GB per hour)
                      • Best quality (up to 1 GB per hour, or up to 2.3 GB per hour for HD)

One would assume a Netflix mobile/android app would auto adjust video quality on it's own, but dialing this down might be worth a try.

I have no idea if dialing down the video quality has any effect with the ability to stream Netflix because I haven't tried it yet. I mainly wanted to point out that I was wrong and Netflix DOES in fact offer a way to adjust the quality of video. Don't want to mislead anyone who might be following along!

Here is also another 1.5.2 version I found over at XDA

It works great on mine. I tried the version that is available on the Amazon store and sure enough, the audio was out of sync.

No issue with this one at all so far.

I tried the 1.5.2, it installed and the program ran but the video just refuses to run properly. Netflix does NOT use Flash, on this platform when using the app, I know this because Netflix Did run (just fine no hitching) Now this platform and I neber installed Flash on this device.
This IS a programing problem, not a platform problem or 'user' problem. From what I can tell there is a problem with the ap streaming content FROM its buffer to use in the the player. Netflix updated the app, today 4/25/12, but did not address our issue. I think our gripe is with the program and netflix should patch or update.
It anyone has Netflix running, other then with 1.5.2-It refuses to play content on my 701i... just keeps poping up the 'Upgrade' prompt and you can not play content) Please post Now you got netflix working. Heck, netflix works on my HTC EVO 4G, it should work for us.

I don't know that anyone has truly figured it out. I've seen a few posts on here where people have returned tablets and suddenly and unexplicably Netflix runs fine on their replacement tablet of the same model number .

Yes, SingleDad I wondered just HOW that works! I have put in a call to the tech support, and requested assistance with this problem from the B.B.B.. Hopefully we can 'motivate' Polaroid/Amazon/Netflix and help them realize this is an unacceptable situation. I am not willing to modify my tablet (a 1 in 10 chance of turning $139.00 into a paperweight).
I am also following threads at some other forums.
                                Keep the faith!
