[RK3188/3066/2918] Custom Firmware Tool for Windows

Longtime lurker. But its time to contribute! I recently bought a TimingPower RK3188 and searched high and low for these tools. After endless hours of searching and translating Chinese and Japanese I brought this little package together to build your own CFW. This probably isn't for complete newbies but I made it as simple as possible. I can confirm it works on my TimingPower RK3188 using Rockchip Batch Tool as well as copying update.img to SD. Anyway, enjoy!

This is what it does:

Extract update.img as well as system.img

Pre-root your firmware

Open system folder to edit your rom

Repack update.img

Yeah download your original firmware, rename it update.img and put it in the same directory as this app. It will extract the update and system.img inside of it. Then you can delete all the packages and stuff you don't need. It can also root the firmware for you so when you flash it you don't have to root your device again. And lastly it will repack it so you can flash it to your device.

I have actually used this tool and for some reason it wont work with my Timing Power RK3188. It was hit or miss flashing.

Does it work only with rooted device ?

No your device doesnt need to be rooted to use this. It can however make a rooted rom.

I followed many recipes on internet to root my device but that nevers works.

I can install the driver for windows 7 64. The RK rom toolkit sees my device (green light) but the adb devices does not, so i can not root it. I will try your tool this weekend and will post the result later. Thanks

Could you check your FTP speed when downloading a big file from you pc to a RK3118 device ? Mine is just a round 300 KBps. It's very slow, because i do the same with my 2 tablets (asus et acer), the speed is around 3 MBps.
I use File Zilla FTP client on pc, and FTPserver on UG007B.

Is it hardware or software issue ? Could a custom rom fix this problem ? Thanks

yeah i did have to install drivers. i had to download a japanese program called qqphonemanager and it installed the drivers for me. Just installed it and then hooked up my mini-pc and it worked. the directions are on the timing power site under rk3188 support.

hello
a test this tool and upack and repack img works fine but when a press "3 pre-root"
files are add to system.img but superSU apk show : "There is no SU binary installed, and SuperSu Cannot install it. This is a problem!"
Maybe Someone add for me root to my custom rom?
