Android 9 from HK1 mini have bootloader 2.49 and send this firmware to the brick. Only bootloader 2.32, 2.37, 2.38 of firmware are good for Scishion V88 mini.

Bootloader was 2.56. I tried it out of boredom today. You are right, it's not working! But thanks again! HK1 8.1.0 is working much Better as stock and Leelbox Firmwares.
Stock is Terrible! Leel was ok for the last year but also pretty slow.

Anyone use Kodi? I can't update the 18.0 beta with HK1 Firmware. With the Leelbox firmware Kodi was on version 18.7.

Maximum is widewine l3 for rk3229 origin firmware. Some custom firmware have widewine L1. Existing one, two rk3229 custom firmware with widewine l1 on all internet world. Russian 4pda site have not support widewine l1- or hdcp keys for this firmware.

I got this working on my A96X (RK3229 with WiFi 6051P) but my remote controller doesn't work.

Any idea if one of this could make it work?

Mine is originally different from this one.

                  This is common when testing

Its in DTB/Device /Tree/Blob.....something like that

In the mean time grab a wireless mouse/USB mini Keyboard to navigate system

                  Do some reasearch
                  If box is rooted etc...
May be able to navigate system files and copy/paste
The DTB file to system folder
                  May be in ect Folder

                  Happy Testing

I rolled back to 5.1.1 because it was the only one working with the control (and I only use to turn on and off). For all the rest I use mouse or those small keyboard with mouse.

But the ROM today is not rooted unfortunately and I am afraid of messing with the TWRP and brick for good. Guess I will need to stick with 5.1.1 then.

                      Very well

                      If you are unfamiliar/hesitant.
                      Stay with 5.1.1
If its only Remote issue and not wifi/ethernet
                      Maybe test other Rom

However you can do lots with TWRP
THe generic remote that comes with all boxes are crap anyways.
                      USB Dongle driven device/most excellent
Some Apps/APK can only navigate with Mouse,etc...

                      If your feeling brave
                      Maybe try Leelbox 7.1.2
Very Stable and 720 p video playback in Nutflux version

So I got this ROM installed RK3229_HK1_MINI_noroot_SSV6051_8.1.0_20181029.1925 .img. The installation went fine, but I thought I got bootloop since the device wouldn't start, just the HK logo screen. Removed from the outlet and put it again and the system came up (geez got scared there).

Tested a controller I have for my x96 mini and IT WORKED!!!! Got so happy. Now I can turn on and off. Everything else I already use the mouse or small keyboard with mouse on it.

Man this was awesome. Got 8.1.0 installed. Looked a bit choppy at the beginning, mouse was not moving ok, but I guess once it settled down started to work ok. System seems at least ok. Will need to test the youtube App since my previous box 7.1.1 and the 5.1.1 got freeze multiple times (not sure if it is temperature but I got a heat sink on it).

So I will buy a new remote control similar to what I have in my living room (feel stupid I forgot the controller there). It is one of those with blue, yellow, red and green button in the top.

To not say everything is ok, the remote control works, but when you press power, the device seems to goes down, HDMI shows no connection but the blue light still there for some reason. And also, moving the mouse or pressing the keyboard doesn't seem to wake the device for some reason. That is all I could find.

There are as well some freezes eventually, which I thought the culprit would be the youtube app, but I got like 2 or 3 today just messing with box, even in the menu settings for example.

                          Nice Job almaruska !!!

Welcome to the Testing Zone !!!

Have not tested 8.1.0 much at all
Power down/sleep mode and led lights are different commands in each Rom or Keys get assigned different functions

Maybe turn on CEC in settings
Keep customizing Settings to your likings
If you havent already sign in to Play store and update services
It will help tremendously with certified apps/APK
Restart and let Goooooooooooooooooogle/Android/System do its thing
                          Should speed up also

                          Happy Testing

Thanks mate. I was worried to have lost the box but at least now it is even more up to date.

I have found Android 9.0 for the same ROM on the HK1 Mini. But for now will keep this one since I don't believe much will change with the new ROM.

I also found a 2.1GB file that apparently is the 7.1.1 for my device but I think the ROM is too big (usually I have installed a 1.1GB). I would have to format a 16GB from my phone and would end up with too little space to work with.

But maybe the control thing will bug me later so I might test it. But for now I will enjoy a bit more the fix.

I pasted that line from your post

Not a good idea to test 9.0

Like we say in Brazil, happiness of poor ppl last just as long.

I was happily using my 8.1 ROM, watching Netflix like nothing happened. All of the sudden the box froze, sound was crazy, nothing worked. I had to pull it out from the outlet.

Now box only stays in the logo and I can't seem to install new ROM on it. I will try to by the USB cable tomorrow and give one last shot, otherwise I may get a new one like the A95X F3 or Tanix TX6S. Tired of this box and all of the frozen screens.

                                EDIT:
Well.. you are 100% right FREDDY. The card had the ROM 9.0 and the card could not even be read. Changed the ROM on the card to 5.1.1 A96X and voila, it is installing all over again.

Will try as a last resource the 7.1.2 and see if it will work for mine device (original in theory ROM A96X).
