Do the USB ports still have power once you completely turn OFF your TVbox?

The USB ports of my H96 Max X2 and H96 Max X3 still have power once I completely TURN OFF the boxes. On the other hand my older Beelink GT1 shuts down also USB power.
I don't know if this is a hardware or software(firmware) problem.
Although I think it is a good practice to have a switch to control the power (or a smart WiFi socket) I am still curious to how many boxes this happens.
You can easily check the USB port (and if it still has power) by connecting a USB fan or a 2.5" external HD (with led indicator) etc.

      Thank you for the information.
I think it will be usefull if others also reported if this problem/bug exists in their boxes (preferably stating the maker of the box, processor etc).
The main purpous is to understand if this is a hardware problem (therefore not fixable) or a software/firmware problem (therefore fixable).
In my H96 Max X2 and coreelec I tried a command (in a certain config file) that suposedly turns off the power to USBs but with no success.I didn't try it extensively though.

Hi, I'm also facing this same issue with my HK1 Play x905x2 4/64 (Minix ROM ATV 9) box. After shutting down the box (red light), the external HDD connected to the box still lights up and is running (vibrating when touched) and I'm afraid it may damage the HDD if it keeps running the whole night/day. To disconnect/connect everytime is a huge pain as my TV is far away and the box is behind the TV. I also have an older X96 Mini S905x 2/16 version (AtvExperience ROM ATV 7) in my bedroom which properly shuts down the USB power when shut down, so not sure what the problem is with these new boxes.

You can buy a wifi socket and you can control it by phone or tablet.I already have bought one though I don't use it for the moment. Both my H96 maxX2 and H96 maxX3 boxes are easily reachable so I prefer to control the power by an old fashioned switch.

I guess, but I don't think it's practical and requires unnecessary steps. I tried different ROM's as well but the issue still persists so I guess it does not have to do anything software related but it's hardware related.

For others on X96 Max (s905x2) and X96 Max+ (s905x3) power in usb is off.

Also for H96 Max X2 I have information that for other users the power in USB is OFF and for others is ON.Maybe this is because of different hardware (boards etc). There is also a possibility that some users have this impression because they never really checked the power in USB.
Anyway the purpous is to understand if this is a firmware (therefore fixable) or hardware problem (therefore something you can do nothing for).
If anyone knows the answer please share it here.

Also, another thing I noticed in my HK1 Play box is, when I switch it off, I can still find the bluetooth discoverable using my phone. Which means, the box doesn't really turn off as the blutooth is still functioning and available to be paired. Hence the power supply to the USB ports. I tried switching off the box with the default remote and my airmouse and also changed the setting to Switch off when pressing the power button, still the bluetooth is active.

I guess it can't turn off completely.
