Issue while installing New firmware 0.3.1 dual boot coreelec 27/3/2020 on UGOOS AM6 PRO TV BOX

    Hi experts

I tried to install the New firmware 0.3.1 dual boot coreelec 27/3/2020 and also the previous version on to Ugoos box. I copied the zip file on to usb drive and tried to update following the instructions on Ugoos FAQ.

OTA FIRMWARE UPGRADE (can be different on NON Ugoos devices) as follows..

    Installing firmware from Android system:

    1. Download the archive with firmware in zip format. Then place downloaded file on flash card or usb flash drive. Plug sd/flash card in device.

    2. Start device, run settings, then about:

    3. Run system update:

    However I'm getting error.

Could you please help me with this?

Try changing the zip file name to : update.zip
or maybe...you need to extract the archive to get the update.zip
    or
try another SD/USB storage device... or maybe it needs to be fat32

    just some thoughts

        Reading this:

        -use translate

There are 3 versions (it seems)
        img to burn to device
zip file version 0.2.5 or 0.2.7 can be updated using system
zip file versions higher then 0.2.7 can only be installed using Trwp

        Anyway,. goodluck

^ That comment might be only related to the custom ATV version per theme of that thread however

I believe it's because you're trying to apply a DCE 0.3.1 'update' to a std (single partition) image and that is why you get the error
You would have to burn the DCE image completely (rather than update) to get the DCE system on there to begin with
i.e. USB burning tool and flash the image from your PC

I believe once you get DCE on there you would be able to use 'DCE update' for future DCE releases but for first time, need to burn the full image
