HBO GO will not start on amlogic S912 based Vorke Z6

I have the latest stock firmware on my amlogic S912 based Vorke Z6. I am not able to get the HBO GO app to start. I installed the app from the official google play store. I also tried installing several different versions from apkmirror and apkpure. After each attempt, I cleared the data and cache associated with the app and unistalled, so each install was clean.
The app starts with a splash screen that shows the HBO GO logo, and then it simply shuts down without any warning or dialog. I am able to run the app on an Nvidia Shield Pro.
In one odd version of the HBO GO app (the Asia version) I get an error message before it crashes (attached).
Is there anything else I can try to get the app to run?

this Box has no DRM , Shield has , you need this for most of this Apps

DRM rights or similar stuff ,

No root access required for example HBO GO application (Slovak region). Rooted Android is bad for HBO Go.

As @gefattern and @Gustav has pointed out as well, there seems to be an issue with the app stemming from either lack of DRM license issues, or just the OS, we don't know if Android itself is supported.
My frustrations are that the entire experience was very unprofessional by both Google and HBO. Because I was able to install the app from the official play store on the Vorke. This alone should ensure compatibility. But the app experience was simply to fail without any warning or message at all.
What I eventually did was just buy another device. The HBO Go app works fine on the NVIDIA Shield Pro and the Tivo Stream 4k.
