S905X3 Netflix Prime Disney+ Certified Roms and Related?

Short Story first; I purchased a "Android TV box" of Amazon (knowing full well there was a risk of use-ability). I couldn't determine at the time any device that would fit my purpose of being able to use whatsapp or other messanger app platform to use for video chatting from the TV; I'm still waiting on a web cam to see if this is still even possible. While I'm waiting on the Web Cam I decided to set up the device with a nice launcher and test the access to apps but I ran in to problems with what is available from the Play Store and what is compatible from Aptoide and APKPure, specifically Netflix Prime and Disney+. After trawling through a number of websites and articles I landed on this fine forum and at this point I had already determined that the stock Rom user experience was so poor that I wanted to replace it and I thought I might have to do this when I purchased and I have previously flashed my Phones so I was kind of prepared but wish I had of found the Buyers Guide and this General AndroidTV-Guide Site prior.

The device I purchased is a "TUREWELL T95 Max+". I currently have it running a modified SuperCeleron Rom "T95MaxPlus_SCv2_20200314" from user drsam007 (forum post) (Thanks Both).

I have Disney+ running but the side bar menu is not visible. and Neflix Mobile/Tablet app works per SuperCeleron's Changelog notes. I would like to get the proper Netflix TV app working and I suspect that the error -13 it is reporting is related to root access and safety-net visibility; I have just found some notes forMagisk here and will attempt to fix some of these issues.

I have not tried Prime yet.

Outside of my own efforts in getting this device to a usable state for my family is there anything else I should look at that might help me or someone else coming along to get these apps working?

I'm open to installing another Rom however I am unclear as to how compatible other Roms are between specific devices, i.e. whats the difference between a Beelink GT1-Mini2 4GB/64GB and a Mecool KM1 4GB/64GB and a TUREWELL T95 Max+ 4GB/64GB?

    HI ,

this Boxes have no DRM ; DigitalRights to play this Apps , Netfilx if it works will only work in SD ,

you need for Netflix a DRM L1 Box , like Shield and other well known , think Xiaomi Box too , you

must look what PCB and CPU is used to find the right Rom , yours is a Amlogic S905x3 , there are

serveral CustomRoms , but important they must fit with your Wifichip inside Box ,

do nothing before you know what PCB and Wifichip is used , for this you must open up ,

    greetings / gefattern

I don't have that device, but IF you run CoreELEC, you MAY get Netflix in HD to work., not sure about prime or Disney Pus.

        Thanks guys,
        gefattern and clarkss12

If I was to go down the route of installing CoreELEC even if I get Netflix working I would end up loosing feature and functionality that I would need further down the line .

        I done some light reading on the DRM L1 and and used DRM Info to determine that the device is reporting the following;

        Google Wildevine Modular DRM
        -Vendor: Google
        -Description: Wildevine CDM
        -Version: 14.0.0
        -Algorithm: AES/CBS/NoPadding,HmacSHA256
        -Security Level: L3
        -System ID: 4445
        -Max HDCP Level Supported: Unprotected
        -Current HDCP Level: Unprotected
        -Max Number of Sessions: 16
        -OEM Crypto API Version: 13

I suspect from the DRM Info stating the Max HDCP Level Supported as Unprotected this means that the device would never request HDCP Handshake and thus only ever support 720p max Resolution.

When you install core CoreELEC, you are installing it on a microSD card. You do not touch the Android OS, you will be dual booting either Android or CoreELEC.

                  It will work.

You use the NG build of CE and then it's just a case of choosing the right DTB for your box.

There is plenty of support on the CE forums too if you need help.

hey bud, if yooure looking for certain apps for android tv, try www.apkmirror.com
thats my go to if i need legit certified apps, that site provides apks and pkg bundles as well for most apps out there on google play and many that arent. and dev apps and tools as well. root and unroot. and best of all, they have all versions of the apps from first release until current incase you need an older versiion to run on an old android system. and also android tv versions of them. i also paid for the small monthly VIP they offer bcuz i download alot from them and i hate ads. its worth for me. ✌️
