    QX1 can't play 720P\1080P mkv files well

    I'm using Finless rom - 1.5 and kernel_leolas_qx1_1080p_vsfsam_cpu1920_ddr720_gpu7 98 kernel.

No matter which configuration I flash (1080P rom and kernel or 720P rom and kernel) I just cant stream mkv movies from another computer I have via Ethernet (was tested with SPEEDTEST and speed is at max rate of my line - 4.5Mb). I've used 1800H and 1920H kernel and I can't say anything changes when I switch kernels.

Also, using mx player with H\W+ didn't change anything.

By "well" I mean that if I try to play 720P then every 10 sec the screen skip a frame. When trying to play 1080P then the problem get's worst - every 5-8 sec the movies simple freezes and after the player processes the next few second it plays them and then stop again. Another problem with the mkv is that on some kernels there is not sound.

I'm using old heat sinks I have and it seems to work with cooling the device with no problem.

The only thing I haven't tried yet is to replace the power supply. Can this cause the problem of not being able to play MKV ?

Does anybody has another configuration which can play 720P\1080P movies ?

    Any help is appreciated!

Can you test the same files from your sdcard or usb storage instead of stream? It can help about locate where is the problem.

What player you use for that?

Do you stream them from your local network or from web?

I have noticed that movies from my usb were played much better but I did a speed test and saw that speeds were ok.

Follwing your post I've checked again and it seems the problem is my home network!

I've used an app called "wifi speed test" - https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...edtester&hl=en and found out that I'm getting an average speed of 3.5/3.2 (UL/DL) but it seems speed variation is the problem. Sometimes I get a very low speed rate (600-900 Kb) and that's what seems to cause the "hiccup" in playing the movies.

I'm streaming the movies from another computer (shared libraries from a Win 7 computer) via Ethernet. The problem also occuers when streaming on YouTube. When I connect a laptop I have to the same lan cable and stream the same movie there is no problem.

      I'm using this Ethernet adapter http://www.****.com/itm/1-Port-USB-N.../280870770589? .

      What are your suggestions ?

      Thanks from your help!

Dont worry, I am here to try to help.

Ethernet2usb devices in android are unpredictable they share the same usb bus (USB 2.0 is 480Mbs enought for all) but some of the ethernet devices use USB 1.1, so they are low in speed, and they drop their speed a lot
What about your wifi? I only use the wifi with an external antenna and it works very good. Try it, wifi signal is great in this device (at least for me). Anyway I will try lo look if there is some tweak to raise the buffer size in mxplayer. I suggest you try other players too, like bsplayer, etc... Maybe other players have a better buffer than mxplayer, and it can maintain a better streaming.

What you say is that my adapter is the problem and it's 1.1 and not a real 2.0 ?

          What is I'll buy this one - http://www.geekbuying.com/item/High-...et-314264.html ?

It is suggested here - (http://www.freaktab.com/showthread.p...light=ethernet) that this work full speed which is enough for 1080P mkv, right ?

Tried BSPlayer - even worst then MX Player

Wifi isn't a good option for me.. Right now, without an external antenna I can't connect to my router, so the better option is to stick with the Ethernet adapter.

So, what do you say - will the adapter I've linked will work at full speed and will allow me to play 1080P mkv files with no buffering issues ?

          Thanks,

I dont know, maybe, but not 100% sure, with YouTube I have not problems to see videos with WiFi. I bought a cheap Ethernet adapter in ****, it must arrive home in the next days, I will test how it works and report. I never used a Ethernet adapter and my opinion is based in what I read in forums.

              Thanks ..

I also bought the Ethernet adapter I've linked in my previous message.

I'll post my conclusions when I'll get it.

Finally - got the new adapter and it seems I can stream 1080 mkv with no lags!!!

Now - I'm looking for a way to control my qx1 with my smartphone. Does anyone know a good app for it ? I've tried some and none seem to work.

If you use Ethernet rkremote don't work so maybe you need droidmote or other, I don't know more apks.

My USB-Ethernet adapter arrived, but I got a bad one, only 3Mbps in all devices included pc, so I got a refund for it, and ordered a new one. Anyway my WiFi stability is very good in all my devices.

Nice that you can enjoy now with your stick.
