    Problem with update

    Hello,
I have rom tablet with Riley the latest version and I wanted to put the official version, for that I have downloaded the official firmware, I've gotten into the internal memory of the tablet recognize the update and asked me if I wanted to upgrade. It began the process of installing and rebooting is stuck on the start screen of PIPO interactive media...I think my mistake was trying to do an update to an official release coming from a customized rom. I've tried using ROM_Flash_Tool_137 that comes with Riley, but not detected by the drivers tablet.I trying to install the drivers on windows 8.1,windows 7 and windows xp and none drivers recognize me. I do not know if drivers problems itself or that has ****ed some of the tablet and therefore do not install. What some one would think of something I can do or I assume that I'm out tablet?

    Greetings.

PD:Excuse my English, i used google translate

Since the parameters are different between my custom ROM and the official firmware, you can't successfully install the factory firmware over my ROM without erasing the IDB. You must use the RKBatchTool to flash the factory firmware (it's in a folder within my ROM kit called "alternate_reboot_to_flash_tool".

Since you are stuck without a working ROM at this point, you must use the manual method to get into flash mode.

You didn't say which Pipo tablet you have in your post, so just go to this thread and look up your device and follow the instructions for getting into flash mode manually:

    Good luck!!!!!

Thanks for responding. My tablet is the PIPO M9 PRO and I know it goes into flash mode by pressing power + esc, but I can not install the drivers for my operating system and I do not recognize RKBatchTool. I've tried several so and received the same answer in all, not able to install the device.

Which version of Windows are you using?

Did you go over that instructions in the First Time User's Guide for installing the drivers?

Windows 8 is tricky. Windows 8.1 is almost impossible to get the drivers installed....there is a thread somewhere on Freaktab that addresses this problem, but I can't seem to locate it right now. Even on certain versions of Windows 7, people (including me) have had problems...but I eventually got it worked out on mine, but I couldn't reproduce the steps...it was all magic.

Right now, my Windows 8 laptop works fine for flashing...it even reboots to flash from the Freaktab flash tool (It just started working one day for no reason).

If you have an old laptop or PC laying around with XP on it, that's your best bet.

I tried on a pc with windows 7 ultimate, another with windows 7 starter, on a PC with Windows 8.1 and on a pc with windows xp virtual drive. So far, no luck, I'll keep trying.

I'm glad you got it going. Future flashes should go smoothly now that you have a working process.

Tablet detected but not with flashing programs

                Hello
I just getting crazy. I already did flashing to my PIPO M9 tablet with rkTools in the past. I update my computer a months ago, and of course the windows is also reinstalled.
                Let see the hardwares:
                PC: gigabyte h87-hd3 motherboard , Windows 7 SP1 64bit. I am using USB2 slot on motherboard.
Tablet: Pipo M9 with factory USB cable in the USB slot (not host). ROM: 4.1.1 20130416.164819 rooted.

                1. The USB Mass Storage driver is installed by windows auto install.
If I enable on the tablet I can see the internal memory perfect, I can copy etc.
As you can see the device list picture here it is installed and no error.
Of course for flashing I do not enable the storage, and the USB debugging mode is OFF.
If I start the ROM_Flash_Tool_137.exe (administrator) it say: "No found RKAndroid rock usb". I have no idea, why not found the tablet and not say "Found RKAndroid Mass Storage Usb"? The mass storage driver is installed and working! Ok, let try manually install the rockchip driver.

                2. I turn my tablet to flashing mode manual, and install the x64 driver from the rileyROM 2.1 drivers. I think this driver is also installed well, see device list picture here.
If I start the ROM_Flash_Tool_137.exe (administrator) it say: "No found RKAndroid rock usb".

                3. Last, I know it is not need but I also try to turn "dead android" mode my tablet and install the ADT driver and try the flashing program, but still no tablet.

Last idea, I start my old laptop with windows XP. I follow the instruction and install the drivers, but the result is same. The tablet working, the drivers looks ok but still no connection with the flashing program.

RkTools also not working, not detecting any tablet.

So I have no idea what is wrong. I think I install the correct drivers. I use the pipo cable. I start the program with admin rights. The USB plug is working because I can use in mass storage mode.

                PLEASE, any idea what wrong?

Try using the USB cable that came with the tablet. It sounds like you don't have a good connection.

Pipo tablets require a micro USB plug that is a little longer than the standard.

                    Hey,
Thanks for the fast response. I am using the factory cable that came with tablet. Also I tested with an other cable, that also longer head than normal and come with an other tablet. Still not working. The driver's name same as yours? Need any special right for program? I running out from ideas ...
