Does Custom ROM affects any hardware failure?

Hello folks, that's my first post!

I got myself a new Beelink GT King and since day 1 it's ethernet port/card has problems.

With the device shut down and the ethernet cable still on :

    * the device keeps sending requests to my home's router.
    * I try to have a video call with my pc and have internet interruptions all the time, due to these requests.
    * With the ethernet cable connected the device(box) has the "Network White Noise" (little high-frequency "beep-beeps" that you can hear when there's silence).
    * The ethernet's LEDs, flash like crazy.

And let me repeat, all above with the device shut down (but the power still cable still on).

My question is if I try some Custom Rom, would this affect the device for the best, as for these problems? Would at least stop the "Network White Noise"? (that's really annoying)

Custom roms won't fix those problems as they are just based on the stock firmware, it's kernel driver related and probably hardware too.
Custom ROM's 99% of the time don't update or change drivers or kernel code as it's closed source and they only do modding work on the system image.
Try the latest stock firmware and if it's still a problem then send it back and try to get a new device.
There were several reports of ethernet problems with the early GT King devices sold but I think it was later rectified with a new revision of the board.
If you paid with Paypal and you activated Global free return shipping, Paypal will cover the return shipping for free.

      Hey, thanks for caring!

      1) Can you tell if mine is one of them early ones? The SN is SB9XHOJE....3 ?

      2) Actually I bought it from Geekbuying (Germany Warehouse) 2.5 months ago. I did pay with PayPal , but I don't think they had an option for "Global free return shipping".
Within 10 days of receiving it, I contacted them about the device was clearly used (its box wasn't plastic wrapped/sealed and its Android was pretty much set up) , and they offered me a 25€ return, which I accepted.
They also wrote that I had to pay for the return shipping, although i got in touch with them only 10 days after receiving it!
Of course later on I found out about the ethernet problems...
Now, i can still use the 1 year warranty , but I'm worried that they won't understand the problem , since it's working fine, so I'm afraid they'll gonna send it back.

You can read here about the ethernet problem

Latest firmware, check that you have this installed.

Very useful if you pay with PayPal to get free return shipping for any order.

It's probably too late now but the AM6 S922x is miles better than the GT King, already had 38 firmware updates, far superior to the GT King firmware and much better hardware component quality.

          a) About your first link , their problem is that the ethernet doesn't work. Mine is that it works even with the box shut down...
          b) Of course I have the latest firmware.
          c) That Paypal link won't open in my country, Greece , Europe.

Then it might be some other hardware problem.
Best is to get a new or different device.

You will have to be registered before you placed an order, so it won't work for past orders unfortunately.
