    K-R42 DEAD - no power

Hi All, I have had a kr-42 returned, totally dead no power

I can see there is an f1 fuse inside (need to check it)

has anybody had one go dead and also does anybody know if there are any other fuses inside?

PS: it is notbricked or dead flash etc, it is dead power

PPS: if it is bricked what is the easiest way to check?

    Thanks in advance

I do not own the device but i would say is there a recovery mode? Maybe search on here/the web for a similar situation, with another RK3188 device? Can you connect the thing to the PC and make the PC recognize it?

Again i do not own the device, just trying to give you ideas on how to fix.

This forum is kind of slow with responses, which is annoying as hell so i thought i would help....

Agree, connect it to a pc while you push the reset button, and see if the device is detected.

Just try unplugging all cables hold power button 1 minute, press power a single press, reconnect all cables press power.See if that works ,if not a definate board issue of some kind?

Thanks friends, it has a fuse inside labeled f1, i will replace this and see how it goes.

I think that fuse must be blown

I suppose you'd try putting it in recovery mode just take out everything except the hdmi cable and micro usb linked to the computer then press in the recovery button and plug the power in with the recovery button pressed in .If it makes a usb detected sound on the pc the console is not completely dead, but more likely working. If working just get hold of lewy20041 hfw 1080p firmware and try flashing it in recovery mode. This should reflash it.
