Gt King Pro Wifi MAC problem

I have a problem with a "new" GT King Pro, Serial SB922H.
Purchased from vendor/store on **** as New..(no returns). Found non factory apks and Google account already in system.

The WiFi will not turn on.
My WiFi MAC is shown as:

Any solution?

Beelink support suggests shipping back to China(?) for WiFi module repair...ouch $$$ not to mention the time in transit(snail-mail)!!

I upgraded to the latest rom, I did see the MAC problem. I have a MAC now, but it won't show any SSIDs when scanning. I've tried to work out how to scan via adb, and still really no success. Basically I don't think the wifi on this thing works, and I kind of think its firmware. Yeah, mine also came with a bunch of questionable software installed, despite being from an authorized reseller. It's fast, but the time I've put in trying to fix something that basic QA would have detected is really annoying. Same, shipping this back to China isn't realistic. It's OK on ethernet, performance is good, but I got bitten again by not fully researching and just relying on a company's reputation. I'm staring at the product I preordered from Beelink for my phone to connect to my computer in the ad above this reply and thinking about what to do there. This is a new revision of this model, and the older revision seems to have it's own wifi problems. Bluetooth signal also seems to be weak with the remote? I thought I had bad batteries as it wasn't responsive, but if I point it at the box it works a lot better. Wiring ethernet to where this is going isn't an option. I could build a wireless bridge, but my time is worth more than that. I think going down the path of trying to plug another wifi adapter into the thing is likely to fail. I'm looking at ethernet to wifi adapters, but I'm sort of guessing those will be a problem also... but that's the best thing I've thought of so far. Well, I could buy a new mesh AP with ethernet ports, but that's not going to be cheap and the existing solution there works out really well.

I'm going to try the latest coreelec and see if it does any better. I might open it up to see what's going on inside. I don't know. I spent hours working on this hoping I could get somewhere as I consider myself technically proficient. I did grab the apks for all the shady software. Two were interesting, but considering how extremely shady the others were I'd have to watch all the traffic at my router to see what is really going on with the software, and they'd be more of a novelty than something I wanted.

Below is svc wifi enable dmesg output and some other stuff I thought might be interesting. It clearly looks like I am talking to a wifi device, just not one that works. iw scan and scan in wpa_cli get nowhere. ifconfig wlan0 up generates more dmesg, but I just registered and am not sure how the forum will like me dumping a huge paste of dmesg.

I had to burn the img. The android software shown in the manual for the other update method doesn't seem entirely like the one on the device--even after the new rom. That method reboots into recovery, but fails verification of the package and aborts.

Sucks. I'm sure testing that wifi works at the factory could be accomplished within 5 minutes in an automated fashion so one person could do multiple units simultaneously, and clearly that was not done.

I think I had to get used to the buttons or they needed to be broken in, but the air mouse is mostly better than the one I had before. I may use it on something else if this thing ends up in the closet next to other things that didn't quite work as advertised.

Truly disappointing, help from support =ship back ($60). Beelink forums seem censored about certain manufacturing complaints or no follow-up (IMO).

Have you tried setting up your Router again by changing the WiFi Channels to 36 & 40 Only?

have you also flashed to their latest firmware to try if get the flaws will be address?

or try other Custom ROM that were posted here in the Forum.

I tried all(?) firmwares and Beelink updates. WiFi Mac address not acquired. Customer support indicated they would have to resolder a new Wifi chip!
