    MXQ Pro 4k 5G RK3228A RK3229-MXQ-V3.0

    Hello,
I am a new member to this forum.
I read many interesting articles and methods to flash.
But I am searching for a compatible firmware (or the stock one) for my specific machine, which details follows:

Its a MXQ Pro 4K 5G (new variant as far as I can see) which I recently bought and managed to brick it.

    Wifi chip: SV6051P.
    CPU: RK3228A.
    EMMC chip: Samsung KLM8G1GEAC-B001 8GB.
Memory chips: Hynix H5TQ1G43BFR, 8 of them, total 2GB RAM.

The above machine has manipulated android versions in its firmware and RAM / ROM sizes. It says in its box and when was working (and I bought it as) 4GB RAM and 64GB ROM. It’s true specs are 2GB RAM and 8GB ROM.

I already got all the tools and downloaded many firmwares and tried to restore it and failed. Most of the times it ended up bricked or not booting.

I managed to clean Emmc with multitool to unbrick it so I can either boot from SD card or reprogram it with mask rom.

I did it many times already trying out the various firmwares I got online. I tried SD Firmware tool too but since I erased the Emmc there is not a bootloader and recovery available to perform the flash. So it does not boot at all with it.

The only two that works are the multitool and a LibreELEC build I have, both from SD cards.

I ask you, if you have such a box, or if you have the firmware of it, can you please give it to me so I can fix it again?

Please see the attached pictures to help me locate its firmware.

My primary goal is to use it as an emulator machine to play games. If I can restore it, now that I have some knowledge of how (not) to break things haha, I would like to have it as an Android TV box AND as an emulator machine.

Thanks for your time, and since the machine is bricked I can test anything.

    Hmmmmmmmmm

    Something is manipulated for sure

    Or bad Build Prop/Script Edit...

    Ugly

May not be all Bad if CPU Z is correct..

Maybe Try AIDA 64 , Ram Truth, Even Kodi App to confirm System Settings Match CPU Z

For 8 Ram Chips to only = 1 Gig is not very likely

    Probly 8 x 256 to = 2G

    Or 8 x 512 to = 4G
    Like CPU Z reads as

Samsung 325 eMMc can Range from 4G to 128G or Higher ....

From images Posted looks like you are Running Android Build Version 7.1.2

Maybe Boot to Recovery (toothpick Method)
Record what is in upper left corner
That is what CPU is processing

This is nasty Trick by someone to sell boxes
Do you have 5G network to even Test 5G as advertised

There will b Firmware for this Box
What is Original/Factory is hard to tell

    Happy Testing

Well those pics were taken when the machine was working. It’s been erased now and I am searching for its firmware..

The real specs is 1GB ram (I searched for the chips) and 8GB Emmc with RockChip 3228a cpu.

If anyone has this machine with that tag on the motherboard, and have this firmware, please share it..
      Thanks a lot

        Okay

Strange how CPU Z reads as Rockchip RK 3066 1.2 GHZ

        Good Luck

As I read somewhere, RK3066 is a generic name of the platform being used. The CPU is RK3228A.

            Okay

CPU Z is not always accurate
Roms are clone of Phone or Tablet

            CPU Z reads as Display 6.89 inches...etc

-Still confusing opening post sure is True specs 2 / 8
            >Now sure is 1 / 8
            > images do not match...?

It does not matter / Es ist egal/ have been researching all languages...

Above your POst is Firmware Roms Tools

            Go there

Look for Thread By Gustav 13000 plus views

Maybe is Rom there to Test/Recover your Box

Whether images are correct /Modified or not Im confident i saw RK 3229 printed on PCB/and looks like 3228A on CHIP kinds fuzzy

            SV 6051 RK 3229

For Emulator Maybe is addon For LibreELEC....

            Good Luck

I use libreelec now but I can’t make the emulators work, they do start, emulationstation or retroarch, up to their loading screen. They close kodi but after some seconds, the system reboots and loads kodi again...

Anyone else that may have information on that firmware?

Since it is bricked, try these:

                  Or

Kindly report back since I got LPDDR as well!!

                    Thanks for your reply.
I will try and report back!

In the mean time, after a ludicrous amount of reflashes, I finally got the point why my machine was not starting. It’s due to wrong loaders. I got a collection of loaders now and it seems only one of them makes my device go. After that I can do flash what I want and most of the times it works. Even when I mix rom systems (!)..

So the correct way to go, is to Flash your rom with the correct Wi-Fi chip and then flash again your loader. And if you have your device loader, do not lose it!!!

I found some working out of the box. It’s not my rom but they do report my RAM and ROM sizes correctly. Some of them causes high temperatures. So I have to find the best I can and stick with it.

Yours is LPDDR? My boards says RK3229-MXQ-V4.0

Would be nice when you post working fw here!

                        No, mine has DDR3 SDRAM.

Description I found in its datasheet:

The H5TQ1G43BFR-H9C, are a 1,073,741,824-bit CMOS Double Data Rate III (DDR3) Synchronous DRAM, ideally suited for the main memory applications which requires
large memory density and high bandwidth.

Hynix 1Gb DDR3 SDRAMs offer fully synchronous operations
referenced to both rising and falling edges of the clock. While all addresses and control inputs are latched on the rising edges of the CK (falling edges of the CK), Data, Data strobes and Write data masks inputs are sampled on both rising and falling edges of it. The data paths are internally pipelined and
8-bit prefetched to achieve very high bandwidth.

                        FEATURES
                        * This product in compliance with the RoHS directive.
