Hi

I spend a long time to modify this launcher to optimize it for tv layout.
Works great on Amlogic and Rockchip devices.





How to delete an app
Long press on an icon then press down then press the Enter key on the recycle bin to delete an app.

On Android 11 ( rk3566/h96 )
It works..
But on first row it only shows MCE app and Settings
Row two shows : Settings / network / laucher settings

Looks like a permission is missing.. to access Recents and/or Apps installled?
-After Reboot.. it shows 4 more apps : DLNA/File Browser/Setup Wizard/System update
--but after using app..return to Home...again only two apps??
-Giving Launcher more permissions did nothing : Disabled powersaving and Usage

Anyway...looking good

Can you send me a screenshot, can zip it or send privately too.
I just want to see how it looks on Android 11, only tested on Android 10.
There are probably some new apps that don't have banner icons.
The firmware has to have /system/etc/tv_core_hardware.xml to access leanback permissions.

You can also long press an app to move it around or
press menu to add it to a new favorite row at the top or to hide the app in the launcher(eg. system apps you don't use with ugly icons).
You must also use an app like FTVLauncher(https://github.com/codefaktor/FTVLaunchX/releases) or Nome to make it the default launcher so it doesn't jump back to the stock launcher.

Install your app
Install FTV launcher
fix permission?

btw there is an app called lazy Media. Is it possible to set app as launcher ? Default it is just an app like Media Center....

Well..
There is No : /system/etc/tv_core_hardware.xml

Under this android 11.. You can go to permissions then set Station launcher as Home default
So, FTV might not be needed

Moving shortcut works.. menu on app : add to fav / hide in laucher / app settings
-but then go-back to Home : shows only Voice mic (all icons are gone )

Tried running Vnc-server.. but screencapture does not work ( to let you play with unit )

Testing on A95X F4 Amlogic S905X4 Android 10

Works well !!!!!

Did not need NoMe or FTV launcher to set as Home

Press/Hold Home button
Select Always...not Just once

Reboot
All is Good

As a matter of fact works so good
Cant get back to Leanback Launcher
Tried Force close/Force stop/clear data/clearcache....

Finally had to uninstall

Still most excellent

Noticed in status there is update/upgrade available
Clicked on apply update
Nothing

How to update to latest version?

X96air stock even shows wifi connection and settings in bottom!

If your firmware has a TvSettings app it will also show a Settings and Wifi icon at the bottom.

ok, seems like x96 air stock has TvSettings!

Any way to have like bigger icons like zoom? on projector lil small

You can change the icon sizes in the settings and the roundness of the corners.
I made the default size smaller so it looks better on tv boxes and more modern with rounder corners.

It will become the best 3rd party launcher for AndroidTV in future as people get tired of all the new ads Google force into their stock AndroidTV app.

Thanks for the hint! Looking good - reminds me of one I cant remember...

To be honest- for me-it is too large in size. I always look for launcher with tiny size, thats why I am currently on ATV launcher.

leanback-on-fire/LeanbackLauncher used to be a good one but does not work anymore :-(

WEchip Allwinner H616( From OP not recommended but wanted to try anyways)
