32 bit OS ???

    32 bit OS ???

    Just took delivery of my Amlogic H96 Max x3 8k ultra, AIDA64 also mentions a Franklin and alfawise
    ..

    My main concern is the OS android 9 (pie) is only 32 bit. Is this right? This is a 64 bit SOC (S905x3) so why not 64 bit OS...AIDA64 says it's arm 8 proc running in 32 bit arm mode...

    Are these all the same? Does someone have a Arm 8 64 bit rom for this box?

    Should I be worried? Will the 64 bit version be faster?

    Most android tv boxes are 32bit android..
    -example : nvidia shield tube =32bit and pro =64bit
    64bit is only used on devices with more then 4gb ram
    There are little..to non 64bit apps... currently ( kodi 64bit, chrome and a emulator comes to mind )

    Is there a gain..by going 64bit..yeah.
    I don't know..if amlogic has gone 64bit...yet

      There is no 64-bit OS for Amlogic devices.
      Only custom LineageOS for Odroid S922x that is 64-bit.
      Amlogic just never developed 64-bit drivers properly.

      All Rockchip devices are 64-bit - RK3328 & RK3399(since 2016), RK3566, RK3568.

      Luckily Google is now forcing all OEMs with Android 12 to use 64-bit apps and doesn't allow 32-bit apps only on their Play Store anymore.

      Any app you install on an Android phone less than 3 years old from the Play Store will install the 64-bit version.

        Well that's a bit disappointing got 4gb ram 32gb storage...shame no 64 bit OS...

        My previous box's were rockchip which were all 64 bit as you say.
