    Magisk S905x3 PIE ?

    Is it possible to use MAGISK on PIE devices meanwhile?

    Yes, the most recent Magisk version can be installed with USB mounted TWRP by flashing a modified Magisk_boot.img to recovery.img. Because AML android9 devices are system-on-root the Magisk boot.img replaces the recovery.img -- so the only way to have root is to 'reboot to recovery' because normal 'reboot' from settings will just boot the device back to non-root. After you have Magisk working, then fully remove the old supersu binaries manually from /bin and /xbin locations.
