i want to root my tv box : X96 MATE PLUS H616
4g Ram 64g Rom

Going through the various posts to a great extent and perusing different answers, not from individual experience, assuming that you streaked different gadgets rom your unique remote will stop to work and you may have Wi-Fi or Bluetooth issues.

There are extremely numerous Allwinner based gadgets with very much like model numbers/names. as a sanity check, I'd get some equipment and framework perusing applications to ensure you certainly have a H616 processor.

Similar to your Box in some regards
** wifi Chip/ ethernet may be different
Stock Firmwrae very similar

However iam currently testing T95 H616-A27 Build
This Firmware is Rooted
With a working Root Switch

Maybe instead of trying to Root Your Box
Test other Firmware

Firmware can be found At XDA Forum Thread Titled (T95 Alwinner H616 Tv Box )
Or Maybe here in Archive/ older Post

** Always know how to unbrick your Tv Box Before Messing around with it !!!!

The Firmware iam testing is Rooted
So the Official TWRP App from Play Store works on TV Box
