A95X F4, Dolby weird issue

All
Has anyone managed to get 7.1 audio working on the A95X F4 box? The advanced audio options in android settings are all enabled but greyed out.
In Kodi, if I select only 2.0 channels My receiver recognises the Dolby signal but as soon as I change the channels to 7.1, the receiver thinks it is a stereo signal
What is everyone using for playing 7.1 audio

That is because its not dolby certified, you only get 2.0 and not the 7.1 in android.
For that to work, use CoreELEC.

I have narrowed it down to being an android issue as I plugged in an old android tv box running android 7 and it works fine also truehd appears in Kodi 19.4
but when i plug in the new Android box that is A95x F4 it only works if i select 2.0 channels in Kodi 19.4 and it doesn't show truehd in the passthrough settings
also, another weird issue is that all the sound options in the android settings are on but greyed out


Can i run CoreELEC on the A95X F4 box?
Are there any other players like Kodi that does Dolby passthrough I could try
what players does everyone use, please
