Please verify, or even tips/tricks i can do to disable this consuming battery

    thanks
When you don't use 3g, you can rename the driverfile. I forgot the exact name, but you will find it here (lib dataonly.so, or something like that). With renameing my tab can sleep for days without big battery consumtion. So try it out and let us know, if it helps you.

        Eeek, what went wrong?!

I'm sure I followed the instructions to the letter...
        • Disabled auto-install of drivers
        • Renamed kernel_cpu1704h_gpu600_ddr720_TARGET_v2.img to kernel.img
        • Turned on tablet and connect USB
        • Installed the correct drivers manually (Win7 64-bit)
        • ROM_Flash_Tool_137 program detected the tablet (M6 Pro Wifi)
        • Erase NAND (IDB) worked
        • Flash ROM worked. Well, at least it said it did.
        • Tablet rebooted.
        • Some tiny yellow writing on the left hand side (something about formatting /cache)
        • Pipo boot screen with Riley logo. Flames light up after a few seconds.
        • Screen goes off.
        • Pipo boot screen with Riley logo. Flames light up after a few seconds.
        • Screen goes blank (but on, I can see the backlight)

I've tried the help section at the back of the manual but it is to no avail. Reconnecting the tablet to the PC it appears under Other Devices as 'Android' but says drivers are unrecognised.

How do I get the Flash tool to recognise it again? I've tried so many combinations of Reset / Power / Esc / Vol but I just can't get it back into a state where I can reflash it with a different kernal image.

Anyone checked what the changelog is?

Of course on stock rom since OTA service is not available on RileyROM's
I haven't had any update notifications? Was the update automatic?

Re: Pipo M6 Pro RileyROM 1.3

It isn't your drivers...it is likely that your tablet doesn't like that kernel.

With a paper clip...press the reset hole on the back to turn off the tablet.

Get back into flash mode by pressing +volume and power button until the flash tool sees it in loader mode (flash mode)

Then in check everything except kernel and flash the stock kernel.

              See if it boots.

If not...erase idb and try flashing the whole rom.

+Volume and Power... probably the only combination I didn't try!

Thanks for the quick reponse Randy. It's detected the tablet and I'm now reflashing with a different kernel.

                Cheers.

UPDATE: Hooray it now boots using giouncino's original 'TARGET' kernel instead of 'V2'. Unfortunately it locked up on my within a matter of minutes trying to download Antutu from the Play Store. Anyway, I have reset it, tried again and all is well so far.
My Antutu score using the stock ROM and literally straight out the box was 18203 - which I thought was pretty decent.
I now get 19618 so a decent boost.
Thanks for your efforts. I will be leaving you a much-deserved donation!!!

Well that was certainly my understanding!

The kernel files we download are named such that you can determine the characteristics of the kernel before flashing, ie CPU speed/GPU speed/RAM speed. (Overall +/- voltage would be handy!!) I have several of them in a sub-folder and before flashing I COPY one of them to the main folder and rename it to kernel.img.

I Don't understand this answer. Is it nessesary to rename the Kernel-File before flashing? I thougt you only have to select which Kernel you want to install with the finless-flashtool and thats it?

You could either rename the desired overclock kernel file to kernel.img and flash it. Or, you could copy your un-renamed overclock file to the same folder and rename the text in the finless-flashtool itself (sometimes takes a few clicks) from kernel.img to whatever the file is called.

Guys, I haven't understood what can I do to fully backup my factory installation before flashing Riley Rom so that for whatever reason I need to restore to have a backup available.

                            Any info?

                              What I would do:
                              1. First you have to root your device, otherwise the following step wouldn't work
                              2. Install titanium backup and backup all your apps and system settings on your external sd card.
                              3. Unplugg your sd card
                              4. Flash what ever you want
If something happens, you can flash stock rom, root and restore everything from ext. Sd.

Another option is to make a full backup by entering 'recovery mode' and select ' backup'. To enter recoverymode, you have to install 'arctools', where you have the option to install recovery mode.

                                Hey guys!
First of all...thanks for RR and the great support!!!
After receiving my Pipo I immediately installed RR 1.3 and I am really comfortable with this ROM.

I only have one big problem and I don't know if it's due to RR 1.3:
I tried to use Miracast on my Pipo in order to connect it with my LG Smart TV. Both, the TV and the Pipo identify each other and I can connect them (temporary), but after the connection nothing is happening. So I can't pair the displays. Is anyone familiar with this problem and might this be affected by RR?

Thanks for your answers and greetings from Germany!
