    HELP TANIX T8 MAX

    HELP TANIX T8 MAX

    Good morning,

I bought this box some time ago which still has Android 7. something.
I would like to update it with something newer. But I haven't found anything specific for this box here on the forum, so I would like some help from you on which ROM I should flash.
I don't know which WiFi chip my box has (there are two versions), but it has 3 GB / 32 Gb.
Mainly I'm interested in games, not Netflix or prime. In particular I would like to try the Dolphin emulator so I definitely need a 64bit rom.
Thank you for your help in advance.

If it helps, I found this presentation on this forum:

    [
TX8 MAX TV Box S912 Android 7 3/32GB Dual WiFi Gig Lan BT4

White clean looking unit, if you're into white that is.
White remote easy to find and different look good to see.

    So lets have a look

    The Box

    What's in the Box

    Ports, TF card on side

    Facing Down side
    Click for Larger Image

    Facing Up side
    Click for Larger Image

The Lid and good ventilation on either side of lid excellent.

    The Base

Looking pretty good well made Samsung Chips, AP6255 WiFi,
Good to see, as small as it is Thermal Pad between heatsink and Weight Block
Myself will cover with a bigger piece if required,

All Fired up running Android 6.0.1 at present, date 20170321 to old.
Beta Android 7.1.2 it will be...

    More to come...

      Right above your Post is

      Thread by ReaperMan

      Android Pie for S912
The OP has a plethora of Roms to Test

The main thing is to confirm Ram

      LPDDR
      DDR3
      DDR4
      SDRAM

there are many many variations in these boxes

Also make sure you research how to unbrick your Box before trying anything.

      Again above your post

Thank you very much for your response.
Do you know an easy way to see what kind of RAM the box has? Or do I absolutely have to open it up look for the memory chip?

        Thanks again!

There are apps for Android like
          CPUZ
          AIDA64
          RAM TRUTH
          HW INFO+

          They are not always accurate

          In Terminal there is dmesg

Best is to take box apart

If Box is same as images you posted
          Look at Ram
          Is SEC BCRC

          Type in Big G search
          SEC BCRC RAM

          Looks like you have DDR4

          Good luck

          Happy Testing
