    Is Pipo still KING!

Things change quickly sometimes, and I was wondering if Pipo was still the king of China tabs.

I see Ramos out there making a move with the new 'I' series, and folks still buying the other brands ...Onda, Cube ...etc, but I read little from other brand discussion indicating a tablet other than Pipo coming to the head of the class.

    Opinions; comments?

Cube - still produce only one FullHD model - Cube U30GT2. Thats weird. Read about a lot of defects with battery and case binding.
Ainol - not good because of using Actions CPUs and GPUs, which not compatible with most games.
Onda - good tablets, very good quality, but all models on A31 + PowerVR. Good for reading and web browsing. For ex Onda v975/973. Overall performance is lower that Cube and Pipo

Although I make ROM's for other tablets, I'm kind of partial to Pipo. They put a lot of work into their products, and seem to support them well. I have 4 Pipo tablets now...M5, M8 Pro, M7 Pro, M9 Pro and M6 Pro...and they are all very solid.

In fact, if I can recruit another tablet DEV, I would like to focus on just Pipo...if I can, someday soon.

Of coarse, 900Supersport is our Cube guy.

We need someone to pick up the newer Vido/Yuandao tablets, the Freelander tablets and the Ramos tablets.

Before I bought the M8 Pro, I had a variety of tabs... Onda and Ramos the better of all to that point.

The Ramos W42 with the Exynos...I thought would be the best, but it went bad (warranted). It also had an issue with horizontal lines on the screen..... so even if it had not broke, I would have been disappointed as time went on.

Ramos may come on strong with the new "i" series (which looks really good) but to get my vote they would have to have a solid product with better after sales support than what I experienced. Pipo seems to do better than most in the update department, as well as making a well built product.

I hope they can keep it up! ;-)

Not being a gamer, my needs are not great, and PIPO has provide a couple of really reliable tablets here.

My old S2 has provided many hours of flawless reading and roaming, and has survived several drops....

My M9 Pro(non-3G) is very good, but has an over sensitive touch screen and a worthless GPS. It does have a really beautiful screen!!

My all time favorite is still my MOMO 12 which is my 'go-to' tablet, but then Ployler lost out by letting their quality slip!

I almost went with a Momo 11, but did not as it was about the time they started getting a bit of bad press.

Then again, I initially chose the Ramos W42 over the original M8... as at that time even Pipo had some growing up to do.

            Go figure!

Good to hear you finally got your m9pro Randy. Has it made any difference to your testing? I note things are pretty quiet in the m9pro forum right now. Did you see my post about overnight battery drain? Rgds. Colin.

                Yes. I saw that.

I'm not sure I have a solution. With all this talk about custom kernels, I'm loosing track.

Based on how many people are viewing these threads...clearly the M9 Max and M9 Pro seem to be the most popular Pipo tablets.

I haven't tracked how many downloads have occurred from these ROM's...but it's pretty interesting.

Crazy Man Randy ! I cannot believe you are not tracking how many downloads - a MASSIVELY useful number for you to understand how many real users are out there - yes, thousands look and read, but how many actually go to the trouble of downloading and flashing? Maybe you should run a survey on a new thread to count your fans!! The M9Pro with its HD display is an iPad beater for sure - and it shines amongst the competition from outside of China as well - at the price it is difficult to beat for sure, even without your ROMs! the only thing that comes close is the Samsung - and they only just upped the resolution on theirs. Keep up the good works on all the tabs and count me as a fan and user of RileyROM!

In reality I think that the possible "iPad beater" could be the m6pro that has the same screen size and resolution.
The M9pro has a different aspect ratio and because of that could be compared with Samsung tablets.

                          iPad, Samsung ?

A fair point giouncino - and Pipo has BOTH aspect ratios to beat up BOTH Samsung AND Apple with ! I personally prefer the M9 ratio but we are all different.
