    pmid701c problems - music player

Hi all, just want to say I appreciate this forum, when I saw the Big Lots add for the pmid701c, i researched online and found this place - which was the reason I bought the tablet. I've had the pmid701c for two weeks now and am pretty impressed. I was able to install the google app market by help from this forum.

I have had to do a factory reset twice since owning this tablet however, the first was after I installed Zoner antivirus, I couldnt access the market, or amazon market either - I think the virus program must've changed some setting that blocked the market access. The second time I had everything running, but the home button (on top and on screen) decided not to work at all so I set back to factory default again.

Everything's been working fine for the last week, but now the music player wont work - I open it and it just quits and goes back to home screen. I downloaded Mixzing player, which works better, but the problem is I had some apps that used the stock music player which wont play audio- like a bible app that uses the music player for audio.

So what can I do? I get audio on Mixzing, internet, and you tube, so its got to be something with the music player.

Or should I do another reset and start over again

    thanks in advance

I've had "music app" problems on a different tablet in the past and was able to fix the problem by using ES-File Explorer (find it in the market). You just need to get to where the music.apk is and reinstall it.

Don't know if it'll work for you but you can give it a try.

    Here's where the music.apk is:

Open ES Explorer and click the star icon labeled "Favorites" at the top left of the menu tab

Now select the icon that pops up that looks like a phone.

Scroll down to & open the "System" folder.

    Open the "app" folder.

Scroll down to & click the "music.apk" icon.

You'll get a prompt saying it's a system app & asks if you want to replace it.

Say yes, let it install then click "done". Exit ES Explorer and go open a sound file to see if it fixes your problem. Can't promise it' will work but like I said it has worked for me on a different tablet (OS 1.5).

      Thanks,
I had Root explorer already installed so I tried your method with it, but the music app still behaves the same - it will start to open then just quit.

            Hello!

Nice to run into someone else who still uses - or once used - Windows Mobile. I still have - and use - a WM 6.5 phone to get online via tethering, and WMWifiRouter to get the tablet online.

Thhrough WMWifiRouter, I've had as many as 7 devices online at once. I might could top that number, but that's all of the toys I can round up to put online with a hotspot.

Unfortunately, I don't like where Microsoft's heading with the platform, so my next phone will be Android. That's the main reason for my going with an Android tablet - to learn about the Android platform.

              Hello!

Personally, I recommend that you install the KKROMKit.apk recommended in one of the Polaroid 701c threads here, use THAT to install Clockwork Recovery Mod, and use CRM to back up a recovery file for your tablet. That way, if things go haywire, you can revert back to a time when all was well a LOT more easily.

This method fixed MY home key issues. Glad I did it this way! Hope 701i users can do this soon, too. Multiple factory resets and app reinstalls get old FAST! Trust me on that one.

                Music Player Problem

From the description this looked like the right thread to post on. My music player works pretty good, but for some reason it won't recognize the artists on my mp3s (it just says unknown), I tried Android music, but it does the same thing, not sure if it's my mp3s? or what but I could use some help. Thanks.

                  stock music player

Just want to say this place is great and thanks for the google play rom.

I have a few questions to ask

My stock music player wont recognize the sd card but if i download music folder player it works fine is there a way to get stock player to recognize sd???

Also has anyone else had problems inserting the sd getting it to click in place, mine is very difficult.

I also added Airplane mode app and now battery is getting over 5 hours and like 12 standby.
