Tronsmart CX-919... Does it come already ROOTED?

I just got the Tronsmart CX-919 from Geekbuying and thought it came already ROOTED.

Currently has Android 4.2.2

It has Superuser pre-installed, so I thought it was. Tried using Titanium Backup and it searches for root access, but doesn't find it.

Any thoughts? How can you tell if it has been rooted?

Iirc the stock firmware came unrooted or with defect root but with superuser app, at least it didnt work for me as well. I installed finless 1.6a with sam720p kernel (1080 had a heat problem with video dropouts) and the device works now flawless. Id suggest to apply a cooling mod, as it has only a thin aluminium plate on the soc which in my opinion is way to less to transport the produced heat, especially because it is enclosed with nearly no air inside the case.

Thanks. I wanted more or less to keep this one on the stock rom 4.2.2., but I might try the following just to get root. Not sure if it will work or not.
