Minix X7 kernels with video fix and overclocks

Hi all,

Here are some customised kernels for the X7. Each is built from sources using Marvin.

Generic features:

• Device: Neo X7
• Resolution: 1080p
• vsfsam video fix
• Backported ondemand governor from Linux kernel 3.12 (http://www.freaktab.com/showthread.p...l=1#post108134)
• Default governor: ondemand
• Default i/o scheduler: noop

One of the kernels (cpu1800h_ddr667_gpu600h_vsfsam) is not really overclocked. Each hw component is actually "de-underclocked" to its rated limit. In addition the CPU scaling with this kernel starts from 1008MHz (1200MHz with the others, except the one which utilises the full scale from 312MHz to 1800MHz).

Hi, I'd like to know how to flash this kernel. I am running the stock Minix ROM.

The major difference is the new ondemand governor. Also, Peter's kernels have been binary-patched from the stock kernel, mine is built from sources.

Peter's kernels are very good. If you experience no issues when using one, there's basically no need to switch.

I wouldn't recommend it. It's a known fact that kernels which include the video fix by Sam321 don't play well together with nexus ROMs.

It will work but Strauzos video fix is incompatible with the video fix in this kernel. Video playback @1080p isn't smooth for me using both.

Is it half with phjandersons kernels? AFAIK he compiled them using the same Marvin source at Molle.

My downloadspeed with speedtest.net is normaly 65MB/s
With this kernel it doesnt reach 30

Tried it several times..
And it was on a clean install every time. Now im on 1080 kernel cpu 1800 ddr 720 and its fine again.
