Yuandao N90 Dual Core Charging problem

    Hi everyone!

Hope I can get some help as I've been having a really frustrating time with this tablet and mostly regret buying it!

I purchased a yuandao n90 dual core cz version with jellybean.

I guess I just got a bad set from the start? Worked fine at first then it showed showing battery problems like I would have to change it off so that it fully charges, otherwise while its on idle screen consumes a lot of battery and doesn't fully charge after several hours. I was fine with that.

However, I started to notice that it didnt charge as soon as I put the charger into the dc jack, I had to turn the wire and keep it in a certain position for it to stay charging. If, I loose the position, it'll stop charging.

The tablet said it was charging and had quite a bit of battery but I guess that wasn't accurate cause it turned off and didnt turn back on and I just couldn't find the position.

I came to a conclusion that it was the adapters wire problem and bought another adapter and it didnt work either.

I went around stores with my tablet and couldn't get it charge enough to power on and coincidentally found the position and it finally turned on, with the old adapter.

I was using it for two days and tried to charge it while it was laying flat but while finding a position, the ac plug became extremely hard to remove and had to use force and it seems like the ac plug has missing material in the 2.5mm jack.

The other charger is too loose but I could barely find the position for it to charge

I don't know if its the dc jack problem, hardware wiring problem or whatever

What can I do? I want to send it back to china for repair but is this a good idea? Yuandao company isn't very responsive and I can't find a place nearby to repair. I'm worried if they would send back my tablet and if they did, would it be in working condition?

The problem is with the firmware.

This happens for some people with N101, N90, N90S and some N70S tablets after you update to the latest firmware releases. The problem didn't present itself for a while, but on my N101-1...I noticed it wouldn't charge at all. I also thought my tablet was toast and left it in a drawer to collect dust for several weeks.

Finless and I discovered that if we flashed very early versions of the original firmware, the tablet would charge correctly, and after you put a 100% charge on it...you could reflash the latest custom ROM and the battery would continue to charge. For some reason, Yuandao broke the battery stats function in their later kernels.

Now, the challenge is to find the original (earliest possible) release of the firmware to flash you tablet with. Yuandao only posts the most current firmware on their site, so you might need to Google to see if any other sites have that particular firmware to flash.

I also have an N90S that has the very same issue, but I haven't been able to find the original firmware to fix it...but I do for my N101-1...and have successfully fixed it...but I've test flashed a firmware I was trying to port to it the other day and got the battery issue screwed up...so I have to flash the original firmware yet again to get it working correctly.

So, do you have the N90 or the N90S? If you find an old N90S firmware, let me know.

So the twisting and turning to get it to hard and hold in a position is all firmware problem?

I don't know which I have, n90 or n90s. I've included a screenshot, saving what's left of the battery. How would I be able to flash if I don't have much battery? I've seen some files to download

Not sure if my attachment went through. I don't seem to be able attach it from mmy phone? I did upload it...

If the tablet will boot while plugged into the charger, you are good..just flash while plugged in.

If you are having trouble with your charger plug...I'm afraid you do have a hardware issue, but it should go ahead and take a charge.

I've found that in most cases on my N101, once I flashed the stock firmware, the battery shows to be 100%...the later firmware just wouldn't recognize it because the battery stats were wrong.

That's what I'm not sure about cause it just won't start charging when I plug in, I have to sit there finding rotating the wire and when it shows a flash sign on battery, I use anything I can find to hold the wire in position. Very frustrating.
