Now here hoping rikomagic got it correct this time.

Lords knows they made me work just trying to point out the many bugs the last one had.

Almost feel of my chair when i noticed the new firmware...lol.

A good roms like a nice apple pie and snakes is the icecream on the top..hmm suddenly hungry

Unfortunaly i should have known better about a rom from them.

Video playback.. all they reall done is go back to 720p which does fix some issues like youtube but since this is basically just the last 1080p rom it makes others worse.

Plex is now totally useless on this rom for example

Crashing...Yup does that within 20 min

There some minor cosmetic changes which few well care about.


Stick with snake mod or the last 4.1 this things a mess.

i think its not going better than my last rom .
because my last rom plays movies from hd and youtube perfect.
and many games also.
maybe i look for adding stock kitkat apps like launcher and gmail+,hangouts etc.

Basically yeah it is.

There very minor cosmetic changes where you got small overlays in menus.

Changing it from 1080 to 720 does fix things like youtube but they broke other things doing so.

Plex now is completely broken and of course the mkv/mp4 sutter is still there with the stock player.

This is either massive ineptitude or they just rather slap some lipstick on it to hide things and just don't care.

Thank god the last 4.1 (20130428) bin from them is basically stable and plays everything including plex.

Its ugly and unrefined plus iam not sure if its got updated libstagefright.

Its a pain either use the older 4.1 and loose features or use 4.2 and loose streaming with the likes of plex.

I have the MT version but they have uppdating both versions.
The changelog:

1.Fixed some flymouses and keyboards plugged in, prompts the "Format" problem.
2.Fixed some audio bugs.
3.Fixed QQ,Skype video stutter problem.
4.Removed force horizontal screen display mode,added rotation button in status bar and switch on/off
option in settings of screen.
5.Optimized online streaming video playback.
6.Optimized blu-ray video playback.
8.Fixed 1080p UI display problems.But note:there might be some third party application layout problems.
9.Added mobile control QR Code on the main screen.

Number 4 I cant see they have doing and 9 its very old.
8 its little funny becose they still have a 4.22 kernel rnning at true 1080P but have a 720P desktop(system).
The version before wos having a real 1080P deskop (system) and I like it being not so large on the screen.
The HDMI sound setting its PCM 2 or mullti PCM and passthrue and working well but after reboot its going back too defalt 2ch PCM . The integrated vidoplayers working well with DD-5.1 and DTS, MX-player do it also if You setting the audio settings outputt too HW and You can changing with streems its going to the passthrue.

Some wos having problem with root in the privius version that I dont understand its only too install a version for android 4.22 (Suopuser its not working with 4.2 and its not the roms fault its old binarys) like Super-SU.

I like that they its trying to get a stock rom working with HDMI-pssstrue and real 1080P insted of the half HD ones that more or less all its using. Hope they its continiung working in that direktion so we can get a real HD room and not a half HD like its the normal with re scaled video and crappy sound !!!

On the other end the provius kernel wos working with OMAs CM10.1 with both BT and WIFI after little trixing (BT out of the box and WIFI after putting the stock MT modules in it) but not as stabile as the stock system (BT is dipping and WIFI dont have MAC-adress and all status but its working).

So if You like have a good preformanc stick You sud stick with the half HD 4.1 romms and not the new 4.22 and have the real 720P with 2ch audio experienc.

Hope RM its doing some more work on the real 1080P to geting it all the way it sud being (from beginning!!)

Matt i don't think you quite understand rikomagic doing nothing to improve the stock rom.

This rom is the 902 rom with next to nothing done to it.
They turned it to 720p resolution fixed a diver issue or two with the fly mouses and made a couple of very minor cosmetic change.

If you drop half the pikel demand you can go any say you improved online and bluray playback..which of course isn't quite true since you sacerficed resolution to do this

They done nothing else except try to hide the mess they made.

Super user works fine and infact the fault is rikomagic and not theirs.
Stick any 4.2 rom from this forum on the rikomagic sticks and it runs perfectly.

Audio behaves the same as it did
Mkv/mp4 issues is somewhat improved but this is do to the lesser demand of the 720p res and its still there.
Plex is totally broken since they just turned it to 720p rather then address the roms issues and doing so in the half ass way they did broke playback.

This is nothing more then the 902 rom with a res change and some lipstick.

Any company that actually cared about their product would work at fixing the issues rather then trying to hide them.

If you wish for a solid 4.2 rom use snakes mod of the july rom.
Its slick ,fast,plays hd perfectly and super user works just as it should.

The stock 4.1 is probably the most solid but it lacks certain features and is of course 4.1.

Also i wouldn't excpect anything else to come from rikomagic for the mk802III/sb sticks.
This half ass rom likely only showed because the 902 at 1080p was so shockingly bad even they couldn't put enough spin on it to look good.

With the mk802IV out and likely newer models very shortly they are very likely going to fellow thier habit of just stopping support without so much as a word.

Thankgod for people like snake,finliss and the others that mod other roms so we can actually use the sticks we bought the way they should be used.

Well now I have to say big improvement to browser streaming video (flash) but I flashed the custom kernal from snakillers September test ROM i like this November rROM it even rrooted without issue from play store but the video has glitches streaming pluggin in xbmc Gotham v8 (before they blocked fusion aaddons) and the stuttering in all video players first party or third party and Iffind bs player works best since September firmware so please when you get time snakekiller make a custom ROM for this firmware as I think with you this firmware will rock!

Streaming certainly has improved but that merely because its been dropped down to 720p.
These 3066 devices just never did 1080 good and there never been a fully optimized rom for them.

Since the majority of the bugs where fixed by the july rom video is the only true major area that remains messed up

On the 1080p if you turned off direct play in plex settings plex actually worked.
Now though they messed with video even more and plex no longer plays anything period.

Unfortunately rikomagic so butchered the video playback its now going downhill instead of improving.
