Google Play Store app "No Connection" and other issues with the Tronsmart CX-919

I seem to be having too many issues with my new Tronsmart CX-919.

Issue #1... The Google Play Store (app) gives me a "No Connection" and won't connect at all anymore. Worked fine for a few days and now nothing. I still have perfect wifi connection because I am able to use the Stock and Chrome Browsers & weather works too. Just the Store App doesn't work anymore.

I have even reset back to factory and it works for a day or so and then again goes back to "no connection".

Issue #2... When I am using the Stock or Chrome browsers I keep getting security certificate pop ups. They pop up so much that it is nearly impossible to use them at all.

What is going on. I have not downloaded anything initially other than stuff from the Google Play Store... so it should be a virus or anything like that.

Help! Otherwise this thing is going back.

    Which firmware are you using?

      Thats easy..
-google play - no connection error
-Browsers - state 'expired cert' all the time

That means : your device has the 'wrong date or time' set
I hat a unit.. that stated 1.1-1970 after every reboot
Just change the time&date&gmt ones manual.. then set 'get auto time&date'

      Cheers

Yeah, I noticed that after manually setting to my actual time/date/zone... that it reverted back some weird time/date after reboot.

So I should manually set it to my actually time/date/zone, save it, and then unclick manual and reclick
        get auto time&date?

          Yes.. try that..
Then reboot... to see if it sticks..

(Note: if you installed a firewall app : make sure 'NTP' is allowed )

          Goodluck..

No firewall. Like I had said... I have no idea why it is happening. I downloaded 3 games from the Google Play Store and HD Widgets. Changed the time and that was all. worked great and then this morning I got No Connection and all those security certificate pop ups. Really weird.

So basically, I manually set it to my Time/Date/Zone and then switch back to auto update and all should be fine.

I'll try your idea when I get home and let you know.

There is no battery in these TV sticks thus when you power down it looses date and time.
Most routers etc support providing time over the network or from a time server (NTP). If yours does not then you will continue to have this date and time problem.

So then what is the solution? I have an Apple Airport Extreme.

Should I just keep it on whatever date/time/zone it was when I first hooked it up?

Can I set it to the current and correct date/time/zone each time I start... would that fix it?

                What is the best solution?

One a side note... I wanted to load the latest Finless 1.6b ROM, but I cannot find drivers that work. I see under devices "Unknown Device", but when I try to load the drivers, they say they are not compatible. Had to give up because I could never get any further.

Thank you all for your help with my problem. The Time/Date/Region was the problem.

Went in and manually changed it to the correct ones for me and then reset it back to auto update. Now it is working with no issues what so ever. Google Play Store app works like it should and I no longer get Security Certificate prop-ups in any browser.

Also, the stick seems to be retaining the info because I have done several reboots and it still comes back up to the correct Time/Date/Zone. Checked this morning after keeping it completely unplugged over night and we are still good.

So thanks again. I would have never thought just that would cause those issues. I was ready to send it back and am glad I don't have too now.
