T-R42 Quad Core Request for Ubuntu
Hi Everyone, I recently bought the T-R42 and I would like to know if someone can tell me how I can run Ubuntu on this device. This box is powerful enough to run it and I would really like a full desktop experience.
I am new to all this so any help would be appreciated.Tags: None

Been trying to achieve the same thing myself for the last six weeks or so.
Your choices are Picuntu 4.5 (http://www.freaktab.com/showthread.p...-click-install) or Linuxium (https://plus.google.com/+IanMORRISON/posts), both of which DO NOT have inbuilt support for T-r42 networking.
If you have v1 (older) board your wi-fi might work (ie has broadcom AP6210 chip). Mine didn't so was focused on ethernet - compiled my own kernels and interface is detected but will not obtain ip address via dhcp so I'm giving up and going back to android for the time being. Wish I'd done more research and went with a box that has already been proven compatible with Linux.
Have requested wasser's kernel source (assuming he is not just using stock kernel) for android to see if there is anything that can be applied to Linux sources to get it working.
