    androd rk3188 vs wdtv live

This is a question that I've been asking myself for quite sometime now and hopefully one of you could provide some insight. Why is a wdtv live able to provide perfect playback for any filetype yet a much more powerful android pc/stick is not able to?

Good question sir! I had one in -09 and it was flawless. Except a little slow browsing, for example, a big library of .jpg's.

If you realy seek.. help or support
      You need to give info

      Like..
      Device/model
      Firmware/kernel used or tryed
      What video-players did you try
      What settings did you try..
What are you trying to play..

      Orange vs apple's
Why would you buy a rk3188 in the first place, if the WDTV is So.. perfect ?
(do you guys own shares in WD? )

I'm just a regular guy thinking in the open (this time at this particular post and forum)

How come a 300 MHz TangoX MIPS 4KEc from Sigma Designs, which has 100 MB of memory plays DTS and 1080p bluray digital-rips without problem, when a device with youknowwhat chipset, gpu and ram can't?

Personally, i sold the wdtv and bought a Boxeebox. Then i bought a Tronsmart T428. I actually enjoy trying out new stuff, i'm a little exaspirating over the incompatibility -thing. But i'm not enraged. Just curious of the above question. But since I read a lot of posts, it might have something with the sourcecode, a prereleased hardware due to softwareimmatureness. Very well, look at these posts as a fart in the universe. If you think a thread is a nonquestion and contraproductive the answer stating it, is also.

        Just farts... In vacuum.

          #4 lol.. what smells?

But...why post the comment here.. ?
With-out community support from freaktab.. most android\rockchip units here,
would barely run.. (thinking x7,kr42... how where pretty useless when the first hit the market)

          post this thread..at.. mele,measy,minix
How have invested money, resources at making units and selling them..
With promises.. of fullHD 1080p/4k ect

Tipp : start a petition at there support forums.. have some fun there!

          Cheers..

I too have nothing against the android tv sticks. In fact, I have high hope for them. The amount of technology we are able to stuff into such a small computing space really marvels the mind. I would simply say that I wish companies forced RockChip to release source code and not deliver half baked products. These products obviously have the capacity to deliver an excellent experience yet fail to do so on a software level. In order to see true advancement with these products, either the source code needs to be released or a large corporate enterprise needs to step in and really commercialize these products.
