    MK808 help! Error boot failed

I've followed the instructions to the letter now on 2 different Tronsmart MK808 sticks, but the same thing happens to both- all is well up to erasing the nand flash, that works, but when i go to flash the ROM, I get Error: Download boot failed. The flash tool can still see the MK808 it says 'Found RKAndroid MaskRom Rock USB. Please tell me I haven't bricked both of these!

To me it sounds like 1 or more of 3 possibilities 1.wrong firmware 2. wrong tool used to flash it 3.bad nand although this is unlikely. It's sounding more to the tune of a wrong firmware tool if being honest,as though it does some work but then realizes the chipset is different to what it can flash to, so it then refuses to flash delivering you an error message.I would at the very least try another flash tool and or firmware file to see if that works.
Another potential is if you have to press a button in upon connection to usb in order to flash it, and maybe it's that button is not pressed in as is required in order to flash the files to it? Well there are a few possibilities it could be maybe even more than i have thought up but let us know how you get on with it mate, maybe someone can further guide you if none of the options work.

That happends some times with the RK3066s its only flashing it agen.
And very often then You trixing little with other roms and mixing with images the stick kan going in MASCrom mode.
I wos having some some strange in the RKFlashtool one time so I wos packing it up agen from the zip file in a new directory and it wos working OK

If the stick its very nasty trye flashing it with the RKBatch too with one stock roms, its normally geting it back up and running.

      Keep flashing well

I'm definatly no expert but I agree with the posts above most probably you have a rom your stick doesnt like... grab a differnt one or the stock rom and reflash .. I've experianced thismyself ... happy flashing! ... one more thing to remember is after you have flashed sucesfully is to let your device sit around for about five minutes to let it complete a boot

          Did I Brick My MK808??

Hello, new member here. So I just recently got a Tronsmart MK808 and the thing kept freezing and rebooting straight out of the box. I did some quick researching (probably not enough) and flashed the Finless 2.1 ROM on the thing. It worked for about 40 minutes and then started freezing again. After a few restarts, it still froze and crashed. Now it just stays on the Finless load page with the four lights on the bottom going on forever. I can't even attach it to my computer to flash it with a different ROM because it never gets past the Android four lights loading stage. Any info or suggestions would be welcome. Thanks in advance!

Their should be a very small reset button you can push while it boots up to get it into flashmode

Thanks ATB. I just followed the instructions on one of the threads on how to UNBRICK and it worked like a charm. Reflashed ROM and it worked for a moment and now freezes again. The thing isn't as great as I thought it was.
