Nextbook #0911 TEST rom by Finless Version 1.45

Ok this is a test ROM by request for seriel number 0911 of the nextbook.

Basically this is my 1.4 ROM but instead of Market 3.4.4 it is Google Play latest rev.

Sorry that the boot screen says Market 3.4.4 but that is not true it is Google Play Store. It will be updated for the production ROM. The 1.5 screens are way better anyway

THIS IS A TEST ROM. I can flash this to my Arnova and it boots so I know it is not a BRICK ROM. However I cannot test anything else. So your on your own flashing this

i was just looking at http://www.nextbookusa.com/productde...?product_id=10 and there is a Please click here for the NEXT7P Wi-Fi update The file download is 152mb. the same as the Hastings updated that you cooked up for the 1.45. This may clear up the screen rotation issue on the 1.45 previously cooked.

So when you flashed the Hastings ROM the screen was OK? It should have had the same problem! Rooting should not change that as it is in the kernel.

Screen rotation is a function of the kernel. I will download that ROM and if it is not the hastings ROM I will swap out the kernel.img and you can try it.

But you could flash this ROM from the nextbook site and before I do all the work let me know if the rotation is fixed.

I downloaded that ROM and took it apart. Looks like the same ROM to me. Says Hastings in the build.prop.

But for grins here is the kernel.img from that download. It's possible it is different but cant tell since it is a binary.

Download this, unzip it, and replace the kernel.img from my ROM kit with this kernel.img and reflash the entire ROM erasing IDB.

No dice there Bob. Same issue. I was able to put the #1211 on the #0911 and have had no issues what so ever. Its beyond even me.

Well if you read through a lot of the nextbook ROM posts it appears there are problems with units saying they are serial number xxx when in fact they are not. Very common from what I am seeing especially on refurbed units or store returns.

Hey Finless please consider picking this rom development backup.

The problem that this rom has is when you were de-Hastings the build.prop (Which this is a legit update.img for the 0911) the screen rotation offset value got ammended.
Just add this line to the build.prop

ro.sf.hwrotation=270

I changed the build.prop then flashed it and runs great so far. (can also be changed after flashing by editing /system/build.prop and then restarting the device for those who don't know how to change the file before)

I hope you pick this backup. I'm willing to be a tester.

Also This Rom is amazingly fast it only takes an average of 32 seconds till full boot and media update is done (About a 1/3 of the the stock image boot and media update time) .
