Are there any worthwhile roms for the Cube U39GT?

I bought this tablet as a gift for someone as this seems to offer great value for the money. After lots of searching, however, I found little in the way of alternative roms. Is there anything out there you'd recommend me to try? What do you reckon are the chances of seeing some of the best known developers whip something out, maybe even a rip of one of Finless's RK3188 ROMs?

latest stock ROM I see at http://www.51cube.net/ch/Search.asp is 1.04 dated 2 Aug. what are you looking for in a custom ROM?

Removal of the chinese apps and increased performance/responsiveness, mostly. Increased battery life would be nice, but not as big a factor.

I,be downloaded from geekbuying.com and worked the files. I'll see about putting together a ROM kit and getting it uploaded. I don't have this tab so you will be the tester of this ROM.

Please be aware that I don't have a u39gt so until the ROM kit is confirmed as good consider it a beta. I'd welcome any feedback, if it's any good then I'll see about arranging new images for kernel, boot and bootanimation.

I don't have my device yet but did you remove the win8 launcher on it?

no but simply install your choice of launcher from play store and you should be good.

Ah right, I was hoping to use stock launcher but I will wait for my device (just ordered this week) so when it arrives I will test it.
