K-R42 issues

    K-R42 issues

    Hello,

    When I flash any other rom than HFW 1.2.0 then the tv doesn't display anything.

    I can always get HFW 1.2.0 to work 1080p version.

    I have tried new hdmi lead, 3 different TV's and also tried waiting for ages but nothing.

    One thing I notice is the blue power button goes read once the recovery process (that displays fine) has finished and says booting system. I have to pull the power to get it to come back on.

    Any ideas? Is it my TV's cant handle some format or another.

      If I understand you correct, the device works correctly with the HFW 1.2.0
      BUT with other custom ROM's not, then I think it is not a generally HW problem...
      (perhaps a problem with flashing (erase IDB/Nand) AND do you wait after flashing long enough for first/initial start up?)

        hi no_spam_for_me,

        I can flash hfw 1.20 without issue I have done this lots of times after installing another roms that didn't work.

        I have waited for a good while after flash - I dont see any boot logos just a black screen. I do see the android mascot on the recovery screen on the very first boot after flashing then nothing.

        How long should I wait ?

        hfw older than 1.20 dont seem to work
        justxbmc dont seem to work
        wasser firmware dont seem to work.

        I did get the riley/finless ugoos firmware to work with a k-r42 kernel -

        I have tried 3 different TV's also

          No spam is correct. Im using wasser's new revision and I remember the 1st time I flashed it felt like 5 minutes of black screen before it started loading.

          Dont forget to erase IDBnand using flashing program before u actually flash new rom. After flashing it should boot to recovery wherw I always clear cache then reboot. Thats where u wait a while on 1st boot. Im far from expert but that's what works for me.

            Sorry, no idea... but after recovery screen (leave it with just select "reboot system") I have to wait for some minutes if I try wasser's 1.2.1...
