M7 Pro - Generic Fault reading SD Cards? Anyone else?
Hi. I have a problem with my new M7 Pro not recognising the SD Card if it is inserted before booting. If the SD is put in whilst booted, it works as it should but if I restart it, there is no SD viewable. I have tried 9 different SD cards of varying size & brand and it's the same with them all. Been in touch with pipo and upgraded the firmware but problem still there. Pipo says it is faulty (Return to China & postage both ways is for me to pay, charming!). Spoke to the reseller who has accepted it back for exchange but the 5 others he has in stock are all the same, with the same fault. My question is, has anyone else had this issue? ThanksTags: None

The external SD works fine on my tablet. Its something I'll watch, though.

Yes, if I boot up with the SD in, it doesn't locate it but if you add it whilst booted, it works just fine. Being as all the **** seller's stock is suffering the same fate, I wondered if anyone else has had the same issue. It was on the stock FW and was upgraded to the latest stock FW but it made no difference. Gutted as it's a really good tab, in my view. Any suggestions as to where to buy one from (In the UK) if I end up with a refund? Thanks

External SD functions well on my M7Pro too.
Tried unmounting it then removed, then inserted again, it is automatically detected and mounted.
Tried removing it, then reboot, then insert. it still works.
Even if i boot/reboot with SD inserted it is still automatically detected and mounted.
Have you tried a different SD?Proud M7Pro owner and Freaktab fan

Surely your tablet is faulty. Maybe, the seller is lying about other tablets in stock, wanting you not to demand an exchange?

Got my replacement M7 Pro yesterday, which arrived with wifi turned on and a load of other settings that are Not as "out-of-the-box" as they should be. I tested the SD Card issue and it was not there, it turned on and off with the SD inserted and recognised it every time. I then did a factory reset, from the settings menu and apart from turning into Chinese, it now has the SD card issue - if you turn on the tablet with an SD Card inserted, it will not see the card and says "SD Unmounted" - also the NAND SD is also unmounted! any suggestions anyone?

Remove the SD card and run chkdsk from windows. It may have gotten corrupted when you did the factory reset.
Also try formatting it to NTFS.
